I just rolled off my bed in laughter. This is too funny . I remember visiting a church and a guest pastor was ministering. The church is one of the branches of a popular pentecostal church. All I was able to make out of the preaching was that this guest minister had been to Las Vegas and as part of sight seeing went to a casino met a rich man who spent so much money gambling. I thought it would end there. The next thing he just linked the casino incident to the church, saying people squander their money on materialistic things whilst they abandon the work of God and his house. Within the twinkle of an eye. Ushers were instructed to give out envelopes yo everyone in church and each person should make a pledge to God which can either be paid immediately or within one week unfailingly. Thinking it would stop there, he then asked everyone to line up and bring their pledges forward so he can bless their hands and they can drop their pledges. As each person walked up to him, he would ask "how much are you pledging?" if you mention like for instance from 20k upwards he would repeat it loudly so everyone knew what Mr A or B had pledged,however I noticed that for some people when he asks and they tell him. He would just say "Hmmmm " and I began to wonder. Why say some out loud and hmm at the others? Then it dawned on me that only the big spenders were accorded the special recognition whilst the others got hmmmmm.

I noticed the host pastor was quite uncomfortable for the duration of the "great expedition" and I later learnt from my acquaintance who invited me that for a veryyyyyyyyyyy long time after that incident no guest minister was invited.
