My guy, there is no such thing as soul mate prepared for us by God or whatever. It is true that we can't control who we fall in love with, but on a deeper scale, love is much more than just a feeling. When that initial high passes(and it must surely pass, no matter how long it takes), the feelings start dwindling. That's why many marriages end in divorce.
Love is a decision. You see that person in totality: the good, the bad and the ugly and yet you DECIDE to stay and WORK hard to build the relationship.
All long-lasting and happy relationships had to go through highs and lows. A lot of sacrifice, compromise, forgiveness, tolerance and long-suffering have to be put into such relationships to make them work. If u want a happy and long-lasting relationship, then WORK and WORK to make it happen.
Don't let anybody deceive u into believing that there is a special person out there and that when u meet this person, everything will fall into place. Lie lie. It never happens.
