Onwuliri said Nigeria was determined to press on with the call for the abolition of visa regime among Commonwealth countries at this year’s  meeting starting  on Wednesday (tomorrow) in Colombo, Srilanka.

The country’s interim position is for the introduction of a pilot scheme which will facilitate visa free regime for holders of diplomatic and official passports from member countries.

WOW! This is such a contradiction shocked shocked shocked

Basically, this is what the Nigerian government and its people are saying.;
"We want you Indian Government to apologise for someone killed by fighting gangs becouse you did not ensure that each Nigerian staying in India has special treatment and a police guard so that they do not fall victims to gangs who are a nuisance in your country although they may attack other Indians its not our problem as long as it does not affect Nigerians that live in your country.

And by the way release all the Nigerians you arrested becouse their actions of public misconduct (riots)causing mayhem and being a nuisance blaming the government for what the gangs did, making life difficult for the citizens of the country and interupting the daily life of innocent citizens as they were justified. By the way they would never do such thing in Nigeria becouse we would deal with them harshly but when they are in other countries they should do this. We support them on this.

However, we are going to push that VISA's be abolished for the Commonwealth Nations including Kenya, Botswana, South Africa where more Nigerians experienced the same attacks so more Nigerians can travell to India and all these countries. But we dare you again that any incident of not the Indian Government or these Common Wealth countries government making, that a Nigerian looses his life we will hold you responsible becouse our people must travel outside for green pastures as we will not be doing our jobs and change our country to be a great economy and stop our people from travelling to search for green pastures but have more opportunities at home.

TALK ABOUT MISPLACED RESPONSIBILITIES!
NIGERIA NEED TO LEARN TO CAREFULLY PICK THEIR BATTLES FOR BIGGER WARS. SOON YOU WILL BE LIKE JIHADISTS FIGHTING EVERY COUNTRY ON THE PLANET! I rest my case grin grin grin

You are the one who seems to be having comprehension problems. Read the caption on my initial post again and do it SLOWLY this time. The dipplomatic and official VISA abolition is a pilot project to open up for all VISAs.

Promhize: Even Americans hate them more than we do, they deserve no sympathy from us. They are a beastly people angry
bros, Churchill was British.

@OP - It's a shame that even a country like India gets to treat our people like this. No I'm not talking that patriotic giant of Africa nonsense a lot of you are saying, I'm talking of a country with a huge stake in our country. A country that is still considered a third world country by many. Nigeria isn't a developed country where chaos can be easily controlled (sh1t even the UK police had a hard time controlling their riots few years back). If things turn sour and boys start acting up, we'll do way more damage than they do to us over there.

I saw the video of the guy being bloodied in public by random people. Was so pissed I had to turn it off. Na to just arrange igbo for strong men..when everybody eye red finish, fall in kofo abayomi for VI (I think that's where their consulate is) and reenact scenes from that argo movie.
Dem papa.

SCOFFS! how many nigerians are in india 45000. Out over a billion population nobody cares if you are exterminated.

What is the amount of trade between india and Nigeria? In terms of billions of dollars? Balance of trade is heavily skewed to their side. And if you stop buying they'll find other buyers. Simple.

You're wrong. The balance of trade between Nigeria and India is skewed heavily in Nigeria's favour. Nigeria is India's 5th largest supplier of oil after Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and Venezuela. Nigeria imports little of note from India.

It is very sad for young guys to die like this. Very painful.

But we need to change our ways of doing things if we want a change. No minister or president will stop this....the only remedy is good and responsible attitude, behaviour and respect for law and orderliness, especially when you are in another country.

The world does not hate us for nothing. We cannot export our culture of arrant nonesense, lawlessnesss and impunity to other countries and expect to be loved or respected.

Yesterday it was Ghana, then South Africa, the China, then UK, then Brazil, then US, then India.....and list goes on. Something must be wrong with us....but as usual, we are too shameless to change!

INDIA should DEPORT any nigerian found with ILLEGAL papers fast using the enugu international airport. Also anyone involved in DRUGS should be punished accordingly. Thanks

Nigerians will behave in a rubish way abroad and when they are about to be deported they will now start shouting and crying and also start running after the foreign MINISTRY. Smh.

Incase you don't know INDIA has ICBMs and NUCLEAR WEAPONS greater Influence and a LARGER POPULATION. Nonsense.
trash comment! India is one of the poorest countries in the world; they tend to lose more if nigeria react and start to deport her citizens whom are close to 1m in Nigeria not to talk of those living illegally here, no country in the world can take in such a huge number of people not even india their country. Their loss will be in 10s of billions in dollars; about ICBM that you mentioned; which country have attacked another with ICBM? None! Why would india go to war against Nigeria when pakistan and india are a larger treat to india? Attacking Nigeria ain't possible because it will weaken india and her enemies will use that opportunity to take back kashmir and other lands.

Along the same coast as Goa, in another part of India, a different story involving a Nigerian played out last week. As Philip Osigale, 23, lay dying, people from across the Malappuram district in Kerala came together to raise money for his treatment, to donate blood and, after he passed away, pooled money so that his body could be embalmed and sent home.

From Lagos in Nigeria, Osigale had been based in Malappuram for two years, during the course of which he participated in the local sevens football tournament. A shorter, one-hour version of the game, the tournament is played in the district on its paddy fields when they are dry between December and May.

Normally, Nigerian players return home or travel to Kolkata after every sevens season. However, Osigale had stayed back in Malappuram, giving coaching to school teams and at clubs.

Recent years have seen a rise in the number of foreign players in the sevens tournament — with the Nigerians numbering hundred on an average, sponsored by two dozen local clubs. Of the seven members in a side that plays, two can be foreigners.

While Malappuram clubs earlier recruited Nigerian players from Kolkata, where they would come for the I-League matches, lately the players had started approaching the clubs directly. The players get Rs 2,000-Rs 5,000 per game.

It was around three weeks ago that Osigale came down with a fever from which he never recovered. He passed away on November 7 after multi-organ failure.

"Hearing he was in hospital, football lovers and clubs raised Rs 4.60 lakh for his treatment. As there was no one from his family here, they took turns to be with him," said Parakkal Anvar, president of Sky Blue Club that had got Osigale from Nigeria.

Abdul Jabbar, who has got several footballers from Nigeria, said as Osigale stopped responding to medicines, doctors decided to perform plasmapheresis (replacement of plasma in the blood). As many as 150 bags of blood are required for this. Again, the fans pitched in.On Friday, local clubs and fans pooled money to send Osigale's body home after embalming. "We are awaiting the Nigerian High Commission's nod," said Anvar

A real true heart touching story .If only Nigerian especially some people who make money illegally resist doing it and giving a bad name to the country and its people . These kind of of compassion would be more not just india but all over the world .

rest in peace Philip Osigale you r a true nigerian .
