Sokoto State Government Wrote To Evict Churches From Their Worship Centers. by Ivoo(m): 2:00pm On Nov 17, 2013
The Sokoto State Government has out rightly refused to grant approval of C of O to some churches in Sokoto State (numbering about 8 whose C of O has expired) requesting them to vacate the area.

It came as surprise to the worshippers of ECWA Good news Church, Katin Daji Aliyu Jodi Road which are involved, as the State Government made its position clear on the long waiting issues of renewal of C of O of the land that the Church should vacate the area and its properties. Surveyors have been sent to evaluate the properties for compensation if any.

ECWA Goodnews Church has been existing for more than 30years on the land with Government approved C or O (only for 30 years). The Initial C of O got expired in around 2011 and the process of renewal began since 2010. Each time, it had been cat and bull stories; the committee tried to get it renewed but to no avail due to some administrative bottle neck surrounding the process.

In the early 2013, the government asked the church to pay the sum of N7M for the renewal of the C of O. The Church and DCC sourced money, on arrival for the payment; the fee was increased to N16M due to the reason I can’t explain in this forum.

God in His infinite Mercy provided N16M for the fee to be paid so that the C of O would be produced. The payment was made in July, 2013 to God be the Glory!!! But the news this morning came as a shock to worshippers that, the State Government have written to evict church from the area and that Surveyors have been sent to evaluate the area.

Similar letters have also been sent to 7 churches affected also affected. How could this be solved? Pray? fasting?..........?? Where can we start? Even the Government is persecuting the Church? Is this another way of burning down the church? Thoughts and thoughts........and thoughts............without answers.

The truth is IN GOD WE TRUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Moderator, why is this all important issue not on front page already?
The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria guarantees freedom of worship and association. Why are Christians denied their basic rights of worshiping their God where ever they are in Nigeria. This is one of the main reasons why the sovereign national conference to decide the future of this country is a must. If this were to happen in Plateau State, Taraba or Benue, the propaganda machines of the muslim ummah (BBC, Aljazeera, CNN, Radio France, Deute Welle) would have since gone to town on a relentless mission on how muslims in Nigeria are being denied their freedom to worship. Such hypocrites! The whole world has kept mute on how Saudi Arabia and other core Islamic countries will not allow churches to be built. But when they come to your country, they demand as a matter of right land to built mosques and islamic schools. All over the so-called sharia states of the north, this is the open agenda they are pursuing to stamp out Christianity in the north. Is it any wonder that they have not REALLY come out to call their Boko Haram boys to order? This monster you have bred in Boko Haram over the years shall one day consume or swallow you all. The Gospel of Jesus Christ that daily calls for repentance and acceptance of the only Saviour for the world will stand as a testimony against you one day! Boko Haram is right and with your full support to declare Nigeria an Islamic State.

For a Church to pay the sum of N16,000,000 just for the renewal of C of O is downright scandalous, reprehensible and wicked for a state that claims co-existence of all faiths and where the grand 'mufti' of Islam in Nigeria, the Sultan of Sokoto resides. It makes rubbish all so-called meetings to find peaceful solutions to the problems of this country. Shame on the Muslims, shame on Sharia, shame on Sokoto State, and shame on Nigeria!!!

The ONE BILLION DOLLAR QUESTION yet answered by Muslims all over the world still remains. Head to head, Why is Islam afraid of Christianity?

The Prophet Elijah threw the same challenge on Mount Carmel - "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken." (I Kings 18:21-24 KJV)

Here the result of the test was obvious going by the story. It was the God of Elijah that answered by fire. The implication for Islam is clear. Were it not for the death penalty on apostasy if one leaves the Islamic faith, most if not all muslims will opt out of the religion, but for the fear of death and being disowned by family they would rather remain in untruth and eternal error, and ultimately leading to their eternal misery. What a tough act to follow!
