For example, this guy has no business with writing scripts, acting or directing a movie. But he may wake up and decide he's talented and bam!!! He's selling scripts with grammatical errors to illiterate marketers.

Stundey: Nollywood ke Ok ooo, i get advise i want yan them
1. Dey should change their tactics cos every time i watched their movies i always predict where the film would end before the film even end.
2. Na this one i want make them change before anything
.
.
.
Unclad naani
unclad mixture plenty for hollywood and since their target is to be like hollywood, they suppose to have started real unclad film

That is a silly suggestion. You think by putting naked women in a movie, the storyline becomes more interesting? If a movie is good, it is good.
Porn doesn't increase the quality of a movie.

My advice to them is to stop giving different names to part 2 and three of d same movie. Hate that

I beg to disagree. A writer must be good in the language he chooses to write in. Great writers in Hollywood write proper grammar. If u write a wonderful script fraught with grammatical errors and send to hollywood producers, it won't even make it past the secretary's waste bin!

You know why? Because reading a story filled with grammatical errors will actually distract you from the story itself.

lol, so you don't know most writers have assistants who evaluate their scripts and correct bad grammar and stuffs?

Dude....the great imaginative thinking is what makes a good writer and nothing else! Get that!

I also beg to disagree with you to an extent. I know you looked Tony Ayo up but missed this thread response - https://www.nairaland.com/1477619/murder-she-wrote-short-film#18855111

I understand what you are saying but it really isn't the case. There are writers that write great stories with grammatical errors BUT... the but is those errors get corrected at some point.

Isn't that like saying a carpenter employs an assistant whose job is to check whether his nails are well struck

Depends on the kinda error. I believe if I wrote 'We knows they is coming today'. Then I have no business with writing.

well, if he is not good with how to hammer the nails, he can always get someone to cross-check for him. If he's good with the designs, crafting and other essential stuffs....then he's good to go!
The most important thing is for him to know his minor weakness (which is how to hammer nails perfectly) and fix them somehow before giving out his furniture works to the customer!

this is a bad comparison anyway!

Chestar5: they should stop making sound track dat makes us know what will happen in the movie..
as if the movies weren't predictable enough, one clown will sing one jaga jaga song in the background telling the entire story.
In my opinion, we have a long way to go, not because we lack the talent, but our people have chosen the easy route to quick fame and money. Get a good writer to write a good script, which is the bedrock. There are so many situations in our society to adapt from. It is not mandatory that ur movie must have a 'known face' to sell. I see a lot of young directors posting stuff on YouTube featuring fresh talent.
Get an imaginative director with an eye for detail to put the story together. A good director will make a bad actor seem good, but even Marlon Brando can't help a bad director.
and most of all, get ur continuity right. Am tired of seeing a flash back scene where the characters still had the same lace wig. I even saw a flashback from the eighties where the actor drove a car with the new number plate, haha. Spend money on ur consultants. A good movie will stand the test of time, ask anyone who saw Mosebolatan or any of Ogunde's works.

I agreed wit most of ur post but this one is d one I'l say dat whether new plate or old plate,it makes no differnce.

The mssg is d main thng.Afta al I watched The Great Gasby yesterday&they were tellin a 1926 story yet they were using Jayz's song whch was realised in d new milenium&som other thngs frm d movie lik somone livin in a castle lik his;how did d man dat shot Leonado Di Caprio get past d security&cam straight 2d pool&shot him.

Hollywood;Nollywood;Bollywood even worst

Lol. U too argue really. I haff tire...

But still you're we're now getting to the same conclusion. fixing your weakness properly before giving out the end product.

My own is dat they shld portray Nigeria better than they ar doin right now.

If u watch bollywood films,u'l enjoy their rich culture. In Nigerian movies,u'l c al d negativ thngs in d world.Nollywood Yoruba is alarming.D rate at whch they portray juju&killings&al these fetish nonsense. It even makes ppl scared of travellin 2their village.

Wen ppl read nonsense abt Nigeria, our movies shld b able 2dispel al dat.Kidnappin, assasination, weak legal System&so on.

C these telemundo movies&Philipino movies;they portray positive thngs abt their country.Even if its not in existence in their country, because we're not there,we'l believe dats how it is ova there. That's wot Naija script writters&producers shld learn.

Thru our movies,we can tel dem how better they can mak thngs 2b.Dat's d whole idea of movies.Even if our police isn't doin anythng,we cud show them how 2improve,thru movies;how 2catch kidnappers, law breakers, how 2mak d elections 2b peaceful&fair&so on

Jade William:

Wot I want them 2improve on is:
Producers lik Tchidi Chikere shld stop using 5-6 actors 2produce movies upto part 6.A movie dat shld hav ended in part 2 if not dat they decided 2mak d movie 2b just 30mins,usin 10mins 2write names/introduce d cast.

They shld bring in professional make up artist. Not 9months later or 1yr later,a girl is stil wearin d same hair, make up&d likes of Tonto Dike,d same eyelashes

They shld breed new actresses&actors.I'm tired of seeing Mercy Johnson;Tonto Dike,Mike Ezuronye&d rest in evry movie. We want new actors&actresses.

They shld try&movemovie locations 2places lik Calabar,Uyo&other states outside Lagos,Abuja&Enugu so dat outsiders viewin our movies wil c som tourist zones.

Throw in ur contributions.
U'v said it al.Vry sensible comment.

Tchidi Chikere is my worst movie producer. He uses few casts&his movies end senselessly.

I miss Chico Ejiro.He's Nollywood's best.C al d old movies he produced: Domitila&d rest

Those actresses dat acted in 2brides&a baby are so good in acting. They were natural&d producer of dat movie did a vry good job.

They shld tak movie location 2Uyo&Calabar.D Uyo governor is a generous man. He'l sponsor their projects cos they need good sponsors 2produce good movies.

lestat: They should stop making movies totally and focus on documentaries because all their movies suck.... nobody watches that cap they out out. at least nobody with any sense
What are u even writing?

Pls speak 4urself.Nollywood has lots of audience if u don't knw it.It portrays African livelihood;culture, fashion, rural areas, language&d rest.
My parents&grandparents don't joke wit nolllywood movie.

There're lots of hollywood movies whch annoying&bullsh*t.D ones my brothers ar watching dem lik:Spatacus;Merlin;Once upon a time;Game of thrones (those weird thngs dat ar said 2live behind d wall- how real is dat sh*t?);Vampire movies&those stupid dead men walkin&zombie series.

Ppl shld stop makin condescendin comments abt nollywood movies.Hollywood spend money 2produce bullsh*t.They'l also guilty pls
