Black Friday shopping is known for attracting aggressive crowds with annual reports of assaults, shootings and throngs of people trampling on other shoppers in an attempt to get the best deal on a product before supplies run out. All retailers prey on people simply because they get caught up in the frenzy of Black Friday weekend. If you decide to brave the stores this Black Friday watch out for these common retail tricks:

1. Inferior Products: Many retailers sell inferior versions of items like TVs, Laptops, Tablets and other items made specifically for the holiday season. These items look like the higher-priced model but typically have fewer features.

2. Read the fine print: Some Black Friday sales ads include fine print that says the full discount requires a mail-in rebate. So when you get to the register, you’ll have to pay a lot more upfront.black friday

3. Misleading “original” prices: Some retailers may try to make you think you’re getting a deeper discount than you actually are. Often times, the original price they show in ads or next to the product in stores is higher than the price the item will usually sell for

4. Bait and Switch: Miss out on the doorbuster deal? Retailers are hoping that you’ll buy a similar nearby product, which are usually more expensive. “If customers aren’t really sure about something, they may want to take a breath and let the smoke clear,” Huddleston said. “People tend to follow crowds but just because there is a crowd around something doesn’t necessarily make that a good deal”.
Do you think either as an American or Non-American that Black Friday should continue or discontinued due to the havoc that are caused as a result of the high purchase made on that day or it should be encouraged since it allows people buy items at a cheaper rate? Let me know what you think

Don't fall for the hype, I've been learned this 5years ago and stopped the BF nonsense. Retailers often carry low quality, inferior goods and goods like electronics DO NOT warranty on them. Please don't fall for the cheap scheme.

OP to answer your question, I don't think it should be discontinued, but I that the states consumer protection agencies should hold the responsibility for mandating retailers especially electronics and household equipments for them to state "IN CLEAR WRITING", the specifications and comparison because many of them are bogus and untruthful.

Hi,

If you have been following our sales this morning you will notice that the http://konga.com/yakata page as well as certain sections of our site crashed due to overwhelming engagement from Nigerian shoppers. To quickly remedy the issue we are increasing our website capacity to more than double of the current capacity, we have also created an alternative way for people to shop by putting up “SALE” tag on products that will be on sale.

Customers should simply look out for products with the 'SALE' tag on product images and enjoy amazing discounts

Thanks for your support of the Konga brand so far.
