I've saved more than N100k from Internet subscription since when I started using Airtel BIS. I think it's time to switch back to my normal *111# on MTN N3,500.

Lets ASUU-lize the protest. Let all fone users go on indefinite strike. One month strike should make these people come back to their senses.

I bought my Airtel for browsing only but as time went on I started using it for calls too and I spent up to 3k on it every month for browsing only and more than 2k on calls. I have not received the message though, but if it's for real, then I am gonna dump my Airtel and I mean it. I do a lot of academic research online and I can't afford to be spending 6-9k monthly so I am gonna look for an alternative.

I dnt know if its only me but I think these isps are involve in some kinda cartel. They must hav bin pressurizing Airtel to stop the subsidized data plan

intention to stop it. as a matter of fact they were
happy because in the past month, their Internet
revenue has exceeded every other telecom

in Nigeria due to their wider 3g coverage.
Etisalat and and MTN filled a petition against

Airtel BIS service has been running on other devices for over two years now, and they've been aware of it ever since, and they know it's inappropriate, as it should be used on BBs only, but then, they were generating more revenue and gaining new subscribers. They got their major boom this year, thanks to cheaper android phones at our disposal.

Now tell me why they would want to stop something that brings them so much revenue? There is definitely pressure from some quarters.

To those saying Airtel has not been appreciative of the BIS users bla bla bla, remember they sent you a message to inform you that the service would be stopped. To me, that's a way of showing appreciation.
