It's no longer new, now we have seen where betrayers come from. From subsidy struggle to ASUU struggle. During the subsidy debacle not one of the above mention region joined the other regions to protest, now they have shown who they are by towing the line GEJ.

Is this not enough now to term them BETRAYERS.

Can you imagine AAUA IN ONDO STATE. A university in a core South East state resuming and their lecturers lecturing students. What a betrayal by SS/SE.
Even Their Ibo VC Prof. Femi Mimiko had the guts to inspect classes to check if lecturers will comply.

Shut up! AAU, Akungba, Ondo State met all the 2009 demands of lecturers before the present strike. Besides, we talking about federal universities on which only the FG December 4th ultimatum can have effect on. The ultimatum won't affect any state-owned university.

OP, You are totally wrong. ASUU from those zones betrayed no one. What you are actually seeing are just the school management obeying the FG directives of schools re-opening through their senates or VC. It doesn't imply ASUUs of those chapters have sold out and botlled in.

For example, here in Port Harcourt, a strong GEJ supporter and human right activist Anko Tariah during 92.3 Nigeria Info news this evening lambasted some of the lecturers that have returned to classroom. Calling them infidels and saboteurs to their course. Infact, the chairman of ASUU UNIPORT Prof. Anthonia Okerengwo has advised the students not to come back until FG meets their demands. So what's the betrayal there. Even NDU, GEJ home state Uni are yet to obey the directive.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities,
ASUU, has accused the federal government of
taking money round campuses to influence
some lecturers to abandon the six-month old
strike embarked upon by the union.
Making this allegation during a television
programme, the chairman of the University of
Lagos chapter of ASUU, Karo Ogbinaka, said
the union was aware that some agents of the
government have been going round the
campuses to influence lecturers to abandon
the strike.
Ogbinaka condemned the federal government
for trying to break the strike by trying to
influence some lecturers rather than
addressing the issues. “Government is just
changing its tactics by bribing members to
break the strike. That won’t resolve the issue.
Rather than address the issue, they are
attempting to break the strike,” he said.
A congress scheduled for today by the Union at
UNILAG was shifted till tomorrow to address
this and other issues. Ogbinaka said the move
to break the ranks of the lecturers by
influencing them with money will fail.
He also flayed the government for sponsoring
market women to protest against the striking
lecturers. Ogbinaka said the move will
ultimately fail because the lecturers are
resolute.
The federal government last week issued the
university lecturers a 4 December ultimatum to
resume classes or be sacked. But ASUU
described the threat as a big joke.
The union has asked parents to ignore
government’s directive for students to resume
at their various universities because lecturers
are still on strike.
The union asked parents to keep their children
at home pending the resolution of the dispute
between the government and the lecturers.

Right from Day, the president has insisted that this strike was political ,
Why will state Universities established by state govt keep students at home over Fed Univ issues.

Why should APC insist that our brothers and sisters remain at home wasting just to spite the govt

GEJ intervened in Fasholas dispute with Resident Doctors helping an APC govt reach an amicable settlement .

Despite spending 13 hours negotiating with ASSU and reaching an understanding , ASSU excos still want to continue lavishing the Dues they collected from Members junketing from one five star hotel to the other

As Nigerians we have our own issues with ASSU The copy copy handout they sell for outrageous fees ,The sex for grades decrees and their anti students behaviour.

This strike has never been about the students,or Education it has always been about politics and lecturers pocket

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

It's called solidarity strike. This is what unions all over the world do like the ones in SE and SS just did is called crossing picket lines and it's an abomination.

They call picket line crossers “scab”.

A "scab" a derogatory term used to describe a strike breaker

The SE and SS ASUU staffs are all SCABS...

Am trying to imagine what will happen if the FG sacks the lecturers as they threatened. Will the lecturers go to court? If yes, what stopped them from going to court to challenge the FG all these while instead of wasting students' time on strike action? Time is money o !!

Because they don't have the authentic signatures of people that sign the previous agreement. That's why they want the AGF to sign now. So they can approach the court if there arises any problem.

Federal Government can never sack lecturers! Babangida and Abacha tried it during their respective military regime,it didn't work. It will not work either under a clueless government headed by Wike a minister of education and Jonathan a president.

@op, please let not start what we can't stop later ooh.

Do you know that before the fuel subsidy price, for a very long time that comprises of years the people of that region paid triple of what you paid for a litter of fuel here in lagos, they have the oil in abundance, pay heavy a price to make use of it and it was a very scarce commodity then.

So do we have a moral right to blame them for not joining in the fuel subsidy struggle? Were we not in this country with them before the fuel subsidy. They cried but nobody listen to them, na wetin concern me we dey do then as long as our own no spoil. If na you dey their shoe how you go behave or feel to see people dey make noise dey scatter for over wetin dem don over endure come turn to normal thing?

So please before you form an opinion of people or a person, try and know where they are coming from, how their journey has been like and their condition.

About the ASUU things please get your fact right, to me is like you are trying to sectionalised this things and its not a good thing to do.

One love and be blessed .

To end all this rubbish going on in Nigerian education system I suggest total ban on foreign degree in Nigeria. Let anybody that have foreign degree find work in foreign land. Those that want to join politics without working should be banned as well. When the president's children, v. President children and other top politicians study in Nigeria Public schools you will see that things will change. If they chose to send them abroad then no work or political aspiration for them in NIGERIA. Medical treatment also.

The north can stay at home as long as they like after all they dont like western education. They can go ahead with the study of whatever they like. Those of you that supports that our children should continously stay at home, remember that your sponsor Tinubu's son has just been called to bar. Any moment from now he will rule over lagos like the sarakis in kwara. Folo folo people.
