Nobody is hating anybody rather I am reacting to certain provocative actions and statements by Lagos State Governor and his APC etouts here.

The Deportation Saga and the call for renaming of Nigerian Stock Market to Lagos Stock Market.

This's why the ND states should aggressively pursue true federalism.
Only then will our resources been wasted on lagos would be drastically reduced.
We should then divert those resources to creating world-class seaports, airports, fast trains and all that.
We really need true federalism.
The ND governors should stop puus$y-footing.

A confederacy would be even better.
Imagine a confederacy of ND states, fully controlling their resources with someone like pat utomi as the head of the regional govt.
The feeling is orgasmic.
We would end up creating an "economically-diversified dubai" inside Nigeria.

Don't really care much for the topic and thread but this is such a dumb quote given what we have in Nigeria.

Let's play that game - what do we make of the state that produced Obafemi Awolowo, Amos Tutuola, Fela Kuti, Obasanjo, and co?

Is that state developed?

What do famous personalities have to do with governance?

Also, how can anyone with a brain conclude that Lagos is what it is because of its indigenous people?

Dumb and intellectually flat quote by a supposed SAN.

And this is going to make what difference? Even with all the double and triple deepping with derivations and other schemes, what have they done with all the money? Nothing and most of the leaders are criminals, convicts, fugitives in jail, under efcc investigations.

Money is only one half of development, the other half is brains, intelligence, credibility, vision and good administrative skills which they obviously don't have today...

You didn't address the quote, you only substituted if with irrelevant and ignorant rant...

It was a valid question and quote. Are the folks in Awolowo's state migrating to your land for their daily bread? There's a reason why the Ikenga folks didn't challenge that quote and he didn't say it behind their back.

You will find Igbos in the deep jungles of Central Africa or in the North Pole making a living if there was money to be made. Don't you guys say that Igbos will go any lengths to make money? Why is making money in an equally impoverished region as the SE ( i.e. the SW) implausible for an Igbo person?

Why do you people continue to hype Lagos as a SW feat? A state that has been the capital of Colonial Nigeria AND Nigeria after independence, developed by the British and then some by the FG! A defacto capital (by mere stroke of luck) for close to a century.

You people are funny as hell!

Bishop Magic: Here on NL we are constantly bombarded by silly propaganda from Lagos state by their APC stooges but what is really disturbing is the some what elitist mentality and condescending view of the rest of Nigeria and Nigerians outside Lagos that Lagosians have adopted.

For some unknown reason Lagosians or rather those claiming to be Lagosians, are always quick to state how well developed Lagos is compared to other parts and boastfully beating their chicken chests but that is not the crux rather it is their view that Lagos was some how built by their own sweat. Disregarding the contributions by individual immigrant populations from a particular region, it is safe to say Lagos owes the FG more for development given that Lagos witnessed a lot of investment in infrastructure (at the detriment of other regions) when she was the then capital city. The height of development in Lagos coincided with the economic boom heralded from Oil and as such Lagos owes her development in terms of FG infrastructure from the exploited and neglected Oil regions.

Outside Federal developments, the other claim that they will come up with is that of Lagos Industrial base.
Originally most of these Industries located in Lagos were exporting and servicing local demands and given that Lagos as a state cannot boast of any natural resource or viable diversified aggro-sector we can conclude that most of these companies rely on other regions for their production inputs. Now that most of the companies are mere packaging outfits and the only reason for remaining in Lagos apart from the huge market is also as a result of proximity to the sea ports. These companies will later market and distribute their goods within the commonwealth to which Lagos get substantial tax earnings.

So when Fashola made that useless demand that the Nigerian Stock Exchange be renamed Lagos Stock Exchange, Mr. Fashola displayed his overestimation of Lagos contribution to the Nation's GDP other than as a prime coastal real estate.

So next time you APC he-goats support your myopic and desperate agenda to become semi-autonomous remember that Lagos owes Nigeria for what she is today and not the other way round.

Recently FG almost awarded 215billion dollars for lekki deep sea port.
Later mark my words, this port will later be claimed by Yorubas as there effort, while be money for that prooject is coming from niger delta.
And later so fools will come here and tell me lagos was developed by there ancestors.

..but let me ask you this simple question.

Is the colonial master or the FG responsible for all the projects they commission is Lagos today?

Are they building the new schools?

Are they building the power plants? are they building the hospitals, clinics and maternity centers?

Are they building the metro rail?

They didn't 17 skills acquisition centers

Are they building the roads?

Are they building the bridges?

Are they building all the housing estates?

Are they building all the new fancy courts, government buildings and agencies?

Who built the best bridge in Nigeria aka lekki link bridge? Colonial masters or your FG?

Colonial masters and FG left Lagos decades ago so drop the ignorance and get with the program

Where do the funds used to commission all the state projects come from?

Allocations? Fed Govt.
IGR? A diverse constituency of people, businesses, and corporations. All a ripple effect of almost CENTURY'S WORTH OF FOUNDATION LAID BY THE BRITISH, MIGRANTS, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, AND BUREAUCRACIES SUCH AS THE INDIGENIZATION DECREE & MONOPOLY OF NIGERIA'S PORTS.

1. It's a PPP initiated by the Lagos state government with the Lagos state government claiming 18%. FG 20% and Private partners claiming the rest.

2. The money belongs to the people of Nigeria and not your ND

3. Initiate your own project too and stop crying because your leaders are too lazy and incompetent to come up with anything to better your lives...

1. Exactly what foundations are you talking about? That all our industries and business are owned by Britain?

2. Britain built our industrial estates from Ikeka industrial estate to Ilupeju Industrial estate , Mushin Indistrial estate, Matori industrial and Apapa industrial estate?

3. Where the money came from is irrelevant, it's all about what we all do with our money.

4. Your states collects IGR and taxes too so what's your point? why is it so hard for them to come up with good vision, initiate major projects just like Lagos state? What are they doing with their taxes and allocations.

Unhealthy fixation with Lagos is driving some people insane....they call it slum, shi$hole...dirty and all sort of run-down name, they even silently pray for catastrophe to befall it...but at the same time wish they can own and take everything therein into the land of red mud..

They are ready to die in the process of futile effort of covetousness....

Nobody is disputing that Lagos is ancestrally belonging to Yorubas but that Lagos owes Nigeria as a whole and the Niger-Delta for the level of development they have.

Ask any northerner if Abuja was built from Kano trade and they will ask if you are daft!
They (ABOKIS) will tell you that oil built Abuja, so why are you Yorubas denying that Lagos sprung up on her own without inputs from other regions?
