It is not compulsory that the person shud be a regular visitor to jail or serve prolong years in prison but shud be a Nigeria whose philosophy can be compared to mandelas' cutting across our ethnic & religious sentiments. a common hausa man may not know the impact of fela kuti or achebe. who might that Nigerian be that CNN could cover his/her Burial arrangements? |

SalvationMopol: To fill Nelson Mandela’s shoes goes beyond being a writer of Novels, poetries, prose & plays. Achebe was a perfect writer, whose voice was heard all around the world and so as, Wole, Fela, Mandela and other notable scholars, but Mandela, Wole, & Fela were fieldsmen, they didn’t just talk for the sake of change but they participate in the activities that brought about desired change, for example, the Turai Yar’ dua cabal’s episode which I will say here that President Jonathan was a beneficiary , Mandela like we all know, participated in all protest before he trailed and jailed, same as Wole & Fela, unlike Achebe who was cooling off in far away America while the others stayed backk and fight to the end. 1 Like |

For me it is Fela or Gani. In our own context, they fought injustice with all they had. Is there any misdemeanour Gani has not fought? Is there any that Fela has not fought. Is there anything he sang about that is not happening today, if not worse? Did we listen to them? There is no single fellow that has not succumbed . I bow for them. |
