What a lovely film. After years of mediocrity, I'm glad to finally see a decent Predator film. This is a much-needed boost for the struggling franchise.

One of my favorite things about it is how Naru's development mirrors that of the Predator, but in reverse. Throughout the film, we see her observe, adapt, learn, and improve as a hunter, but we also see the Predator become increasingly reckless and sloppy.

All of the fight scenes were great, especially that cool single-shot scene between Naru and the French. The Taabe v Predator fight scene deserves a shout too. Taabe put up a great fight... who knows what would have happened if the predator hadn't chickened out and turned invisible.

Outside of the action, there's still plenty to enjoy. Beautiful cinematography and an amazing score.

It's not a perfect film, but it hit almost every note I was hoping for. I really enjoyed it.

AVP's predators are adults and experienced. They've visited Earth before. They knew their craft, they knew their target, they were well-organized, they had a code, and they were well-versed in human behavior. In fact, AVP revealed that the Predators use Earth as a sort of training/hunting ground where they breed and hunt the Xenomorphs (aliens).

In comparison, the Predator in Prey is very young, inexperienced, and possesses a teenage angst that the ones in AVP do not. If he had lived, he would have improved and returned to Earth more experienced and mature.

The highlight of the movie in my own opinion is the description of nature food chain/hierarchy.

True. So true but don't forget, the predators have been coming to earth since before man started wielding guns, so they damn well know who the apex predators on Earth were.

I'm sure you know the franchise have been sold to Disney or whatnot that's why they're coming with this version. Still the Yautja are the greatest hunters of all time. Even their teenagers are a force to reckon with.

For me, I've enjoyed every predator movie. I'm a big fan of "the demon who makes trophies of men".

Rewatching made me re appreciate the character's dexterity with weapons and hand to hand combat skills........ Predators will love him.... A very much worthy adversary

Omo just two cast and director don collect $50mn dollars. It's obvious the cast will collect most of the production money but this $150mn tag seems excessive for a Joker sequel.
Should have been around $100mn. This new budget makes it even harder to profit.

Hardly see it replicating 2019's magic. Highest gross o see for now is around ,$700mn of it really performs. But Well..... It did overperformed and surprised most people then.

This movie is all action and very little substance...the plot is pretty confusing and hard to make sense of sometimes...and it's obvious that there is plan for a sequel based on the ending

The action sequence is all over the place...so many drone shots, 3D shots...
At times it's hard to make sense of what is happening...and the camera work can get you dizzy a lot

the camera work reminded me of THE VILLAINESS FROM 2017
I did little check and found it was by the same director...however Carter failed where Villainess succeeded


While Villainess wowed everyone with incredible action shots, creative shots that didn't feel repititive,
On the other hand Carter was just so repititive with the camera work even when it was unnecessary

THE VILLAINESS was clearly a success and even JOHN WICK took inspiration from some of it's action scenes
But I doubt Carter would inspire anyone with how over the top the camera work is

If you're looking for a proper action movie...
Go watch this...by the same director of Carter, but way way better
