same can be said with the predators in AVP. They were teenagers yet they killed with skill and not as reckless as this predator in Prey. Though their lack of experience was present as it resulted in the death of two of them, still you can't compare their skill to that of this predator.

If you put this predator against any alien, it will lose, woefully I might add.

I still can't get my head around why they change its weapons.

I'm not as versed as you are in Predator lore, but I read somewhere that Predators look different based on where they're from on their home planet (Prey's predator doesn't look like the previous ones), similar to how humans look different here . This could explain its weapons....
But generally, the last good predator movie had Arnold, so this is a win for lovers of anything Predator..

Yeah they look different base on their tribe, clan, affiliation, rank and of course, experience. The most experience predators are the elder predator and they're found in every type. This type of predator don't leave any trace of themselves or their weapons behind.

On thing is common amongst them though, they don't leave tracks behind, no matter how reckless they are. The predators in Predators 2010 were renegade predators, they were reckless, not adolescent, they even hunted their kind but, still they possess that sense of honour. That's why I'm surprise about the behaviour of the Predator in Prey when it battled Taabe. What it did was a coward move. The move was so cowardly it surprise me. Predators don't back down from a direct challenge and what Taabe did was a direct challenge.

Billy Sole in the first predator movie with Arnold, the Yakuza guy in Predators 2010 and Taabe all challenged
