NosoChic: My sweet mother........she raised 7 bold children even after she mysteriously lost her husband , with her little teaching salary.

I am so touched. May God continue to be with her. Please if your become rich, buy her a mansion.

ebamma: and is it my fault that your mother is a cutlass and as such is not worthy of imitation?
Why are you guys dragging your mums on the mud?

ajoguegbe: Never trust any Forbes Africa report, unlike the US the guy does no research. He once wrote one funny piece on "the richest Nigerian pastors" Any person who knows even a little about Nigeria will know that that guy though a Nigerian knows little about his country and relies on hear say. Whereas I admire these women mention but in a true list of people to emulate, some of these people will not make the top 50 list. It all depends on who is ranking sha. The dude concentrated on fashion and beauty with one doctor. What happened to intellectuals and hardline entrepreneurs? What happened to Alakija, Chimamanda, Ngozi Iwealla, Oby Ezekwesili(Due process), etc

Keneeby: Prof. Dora Agunyili shud b on dat list. She is one of d greatest women we've had in this country.
Are they young?
Re: Nigerian Women To Emulate by Sunnidinho: 8:38am On Dec 21, 2013
If u read carefully, its about young women not old women.the problem with some is that the moment the content of a write up negates their expectation, they rush to the comment section writing rubbish. Some even said it should be s/west young women to emulate as if s/w isnt part of nigeria. Pls, get a life.

(2) Ola Orekunrin (Medical Doctor & Founder, The Flying Doctors)

Orekunrin, 25, is founder and Managing Director of Flying Doctors Nigeria Ltd., an air ambulance service based in Lagos, Nigeria. Orekunrin’s company is the first air ambulance service in West Africa to provide urgent helicopter, airplane ambulance and evacuation services for critically injured people. She is a 2013 New Voices Fellow at the Aspen Institute and was named a Young Global Leader in 2013 by the World Economic Forum.
How many Nigerians can afford to charter her air ambulance service and/or even pay for medical treatment abroad?! This article makes it look like she is providing a humanitarian service, when she is obviously not. Her service caters for the high net worth individuals, most of whom are the same corrupt people responsible for the decay in our country.

The people who should be on this list are the Dora Akunyuli's, the Chimamanda's, the Oby Ezekwesilis e.t.c.

I think they are no longer considering any dirty politician or those who have served under them whether dirty or not with due respect to Akunyili and Onkonjo iweala. Iweala should have remained in world bank. Too clean for these our dirty politicians.

They are simply bigots already breeding maggots. Is Tara also Yoruba. Forbes hardly considers those in Nigeria political corridors. Someone here said what Orekunrin did was for the rich but when he gets to that point he will begin to appreciate what she did except he wants to remain poor.

Chimamanda's father was a professor @ UNN, and her mum was the first registrar of thesame institution. She was sent to the States for her Masters degree and generally, had a very privileged background. In contrast, Ola was raised by foster parents who struggled to survive. Someone even posted here of how harsh the school environment was, and she still defied the odds against her and excelled. Didnt you read that part of her interview where she had to give up comfort and luxury to face uncertainty? Uncertainty in an uncertain country like Nigeria isn't bliss. How many of these people that you are advocating for did that @ her age?

Please let us not be sentimental and accept the fact that the price payers are the prize winners. She has paid the price, and yea she deserves the prize, wealthy clients inclusive

When Omotola Jalade was carefully selected ahead Genevieve as one of the MOST influential people on earth by Time Magazine, you cried blue murder.

Was Dora, Chimamanda and Oby working for free? Were they not getting paid for their Jobs? You ibos can't stand anything Yoruba but the sad fact is we are a million light years ahead of you.

Let me disappoint you again, the Forbes man of the year is still a Yoruba, the minister of agriculture; he was selected ahead of the worthless ibo ministers, including your thieving Stella oduah, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Give it up, there's practically nothing your bitterness could do. We are the best of best. We expect you to blame Awolowo for this one.

So, what abt the awards the Igbo ministers have worn or is Forbes the only giver of awards.
Chimamanda alone is young and she is of international pedestal, in fact plays in the worlds stage, more than these wannabes.
