Every time we replace Christmas with Xmas, we remove the very reason for the season- Christ and replace him with X!
Scholars have explained that it does not matter. Some said it has been in existence for centuries. Some even said X is the sign of the cross (+)!
Little wonder we give gifts to friends, relations, neighbours, colleagues and so on but we forget the Celebrant- Jesus!

Ask a student to send you a text message, you may not be able to read it, why? Simply because the younger generation will continue to embrace abbreviations. If we dont sound it in every ear, the younger generation will soon find a shorter form for Xmas and then The 'Christ' in Christmas may become eroded.

Jesus is the reason for the season, bring Him a birthday gift this Christmas by evangelizing Jesus!

We do it by sacrifice to him
Sharing gifts and showing love is that sacrifice. No matter wat u call it, it's still to honor the God of the Sun who has blessed earth the most.

Pagan festivals to celebrate the winter solstice (and the births of various gods) on December 25th have existed for at least 2000 years before Christianity. The roman politicians who invented Christianity just hijacked the celebration and rebranded it just like they did with Easter.

Also, there are plenty of other holidays around the same time like the pagan Saturnalia (Dec 25) Jewish Hanukkah (variable), the Dutch festival of Saint Nicholas (Dec 5), the African-American Kwanzaa (Dec 26), and the secular new year's day. There are plenty of people who aren't Christians, and don't give a crâp about the baby Jesus celebrating in December as well. Saying "Happy Holidays" is simply showing inclusiveness and respect for other cultures.

I shake my head for over-religious Nigerians everyday coming out with one crazy conspiracy and another with little or no knowledge of the past and history.The X in X-mas is short form of Xtistos a Greek word for Christ,it is not a replacement of Christ but a short form of another word for it.
