Kudos to wiseguy for that point. people are so shallow minded, instead of looking for a credible leaders with the Nigeria best interest, they are segregating. what use is it to us as Nigeria if we have Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa president that can't lead and improve our lives? |

You had that Duke fella, excellent honest politician, ran his state very well. ANd look how far he went. You will never ever see an Igbo president in the "country" we call Nigeria. Ever. If you think there is a chance that an Igbo person will ever be president then you must not know Nigeria at all It is like saying that the USA will someday have a black president. Blood will be shed before that happens. |
Re: Igbo President: What Will Nigeria Turn Into? by denex: 10:27am On Jul 28, 2007 |
The next President will be Ibo. It is now that all Ibo Politicians should start consolidating their efforts. Whether it is in the next 4 years or the next 8 years the current government will end, the Ibos should start preparing themselves now. Tangible intellectuals should be brought into the country not separatists like Ojukwu. You guys love him, but nobody trusts him. There are Ibos that the whole of Educated Nigeria will agree that they deserve the Presidency. There is Phillip Emeagwali and there is Emeka Anyaoku whom I believe are both outside the country. They should be brought in and polished in Nigerian politics. There's also Chukwuemeka Chikelu an asset that has almost been discarded by the Ibos. He has that Donald Duke charisma. Ibos should lobby for him to get a ministerial appointment during this first Yar'Adua tenure and let all Ibos help him perform exceedingly well. He didn't have a chance for governorship this year, but he should be brought in during the next tenure, let him rule a state for 1 tenure with perfection. Let the state flourish exceedingly among all Nigerian states, let foreign investors be brought in and let all the Ibos abroad that are doing biafra this and biafra that, pump in investments into that state's economy. They should liaise with the major corporations and secure their support. They should partner with the Chinese, Indians and Russians while at the same time remaining friendly with the Americans. Today, all the world powers are interested in what happens to Nigeria. If they don't trust you will be for them, you will never be Nigerian president. Abiola was killed by tea because he once mentioned the word REPARATION. Political allegiances should be bought with the South South and the North. Somebody has to be left out. You cannot carry everybody along. The PDP must be infiltrated by Ibos and captured. In terms of gross membership and gradual control and take over. Then of course maintain a partnership with the Northern ANPP Party and pick a Northern Vice President that will give the Hausas confidence that after the Ibo president leaves, it is their turn again. That is how politics is. Forming a new Ibo party will be wasting time, and trying to build up APGA is useless. APGA should be amalgamated with the ANPP, forming a party of conservative Hausas as majority and Ibos as minority. The Ibos in PDP should then make a peaceful but conscious take-over of the whole PDP. By overpopulating it with their people and also lobbying some politicians with money. Any adult Ibo indigene that is not part of the new APGA/ANPP Amalgamation, must be part of the PDP. The Ibos more than any other group, should be the major force behind a Yar'Adua/Jonathan second term victory. That will secure a position for them with the South South and the North. You can't just be crying Ibo Presidency till the very last minute of 2011, then you expect just like that it will be handed over to you. Then there is the issue of duality that a lot of Ibos don't know is their enemy. If you want biafra, you struggle for biafra and you will get it. If it's Ibo Presidency and solid political presence you need, put your efforts on that and you will succeed. Don't be here today and be there tomorrow, just according to how the wind blows you. That is very naive in politics. It's like telling me that a NEPALESE will become Chinese president or a Chechen will become Russian president. They see things are bad, they say we want to go. They see things are improving, they don't make noise. There is a great principle in life but people don't take it too seriously: "STAY ONE PLACE". Try pursuing two different university admissions equally in UNIABUJA and UNN at the same time and you will realise what I mean. You can see the example of Bode Augusto; one leg in AC, one leg in the PDP. Is it making life easier for him? Ibos better get your game straight because there's nowhere else for the presidency to go the next time around. There's just nowhere. Unless you want it to. PS: I used the word Ibo to refer to the tribe and Igbo to refer to the language. |

bia, Seun remove this stoopid thread. thhe question is as dumb as the asker. if someone like Emeka Anyaoku, Alex Ekwueme, Ngozi OKONJO Iweala, Dora Akunyili, Chukwuma Soludo etc became president, wont they write their names in gold? so why generate anti-Igbo sentiment by asking this dumb behind question? if you have nothing to say, keep mum. you must not say something on this forum before you attract attention to your effing self. |
