DRAMA IN BENJING!! Both USA 4X 100 men and women team dropped a baton!!! Unfortunately Nigerian men 4 X100 relay team also dropped a baton. The execution between Metu (third leg) and Emedolu (4th leg) was very shambolic. Our women relay team almost dropped out but thanks to Damola's last minute effort.I cant wait for the final. |

Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by jaybee3(m): 2:06pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
At last something for us to cheer about. Blessing Okagbare has won the first medal for nigeria and it was a nice story as she only got into the competition after Lyudmila Blonska was kicked out of the Games for failing a drugs test after the heptathalon. Come on young eagles lets round it off with a brilliant performance 2morrow and make it a repeat of atl 96. |

Women Relay Runners are on track. Lets pray we win something here. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by nazzyon(m): 2:16pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Ope. Nigeria won another bronze. Our first and second hundred were not good enough. If the Jamaicans had a good change we would have come 4th. |

TWO BRONZE MEDALS IN OUR KITTY Congrats to our women! What a bravery display by Nigerian representative in Women Long Jump (She won a bronze medal) and as if that was not enough, Nigerian Relay Team anchored by Idoko------------Osayomi won another bronze medal. Well ,half a bread is better than none. Keep it up girls, more power to your elbow! |

JAMAICA breaks NEW WORLD RECORD in 4 X100m relay(37.10 secs). Usain Bolton is an ANIMAL He functions with the blood of a CHEETAH. All these boys should be screened n re-screened. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 3:15pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Those Jamo people will surely win in the relay being that there biggest competition failed to hold a place in the relay. I just hope Usain doesn't disgrace himself again and starting running around pounding his chest as if this is the first medal Jamaica has ever won. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by Hannibal: 3:19pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Usain is show-boating as usual. U cannot take Kingston away from this dude. They smashed America's relay record with STYLE. Asafa Powell was the anchor man and he steamed through with a huge gap. Jamaicans are the KINGS of the SPRINTS. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 3:21pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Whatever Whatever. So far they have been okay in sprinting. When i mean "they" i mean the women. But when it comes to men, the only hope for those Jamo people is Asafa and Usain. Besides, who cares. Out of all the men races, they have only won TWO. And they go into the hands of Usain. While the rest comes straight home to the Great Team USA. |

2 days to the end of the games and 2 bronze medal for a nation of over 140million people |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by Hannibal: 3:33pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
dreeldee: It's pathetic!!!! A nation of 140 million can only boast of 2 bronze medals and possibly a GOLD MEDAL Jamaica(2.8 million population) have won half a dozen gold medals. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by doyin13(m): 3:34pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
I don't know if anyone noticed. . . . Usain Bolt who ran the third leg for Jamaica got to the finish line ahead of the whole Netherland's team |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by Hannibal: 3:36pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Usain got carried away. . . . .He wanted to finish the race himself. He never stopped running. The guy has now won 3 Gold medals with 3 world records. Things are looking shady for the Americans. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 3:40pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
All this jive about Usain Bolts is just unfair to the women in Jamaica. They are the ones that are bringing home the most gold and medals. No matter how much these Jamo people want to bost, TEAM USA has more medals in Track and Field than can ever win. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by Hannibal: 3:47pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
onyinye2: Pumbaa, stop HATING. A nation of 2.8 million copped 6 gold medals. . . . . American with a population of 280 million should be winning 600 gold medals mathematically. Jamaican athletes have put that tiny island on the map. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 3:49pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Hannibal:Team USA wins more medals in ONE Olympics than Jamaica has won in its entire career. So don't tell me about math. Jamaica has won only 10 medals in Track and Field while the US has won a whooping 21. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by Hannibal: 3:55pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
onyinye2: It's not about the number of medals won. . . . . .This is about smashing the world records. They have erased all the records team USA have broken in the past and have made it theirs. Tyson Gay and Usain Bolt?? We all know its like comparing a female Cheetah to Pumbaa in a 100 metre sprint. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 4:00pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Hannibal:Wow how smart are you. You really don't keep up with your Olympics. Who told you that Jamaica has erased all of USA's records? Don't blame you, probably to busy sippin your forsaken tea. Who told you it aint about medals won? ARE YOUR SERIOUS?!? That is what it is ALL about. Of course you wouldn't know being that your country has won barely anything compared to the US. We won more medals than yal have in ONE WEEK. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by Hannibal: 4:13pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
onyinye2: Pumbaa, stop hating!!! The whole of GB team is 60 million. . . . .I am sure the population of Texas is more than that. Y'all sexual deviants reproduce like Rank Xerox copy machine. It is well expected that USA should do better than most countries cos they compete in more games and have more man power to cope with em. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 4:18pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
Hannibal:We should do better because We are Better. Simply as that. It is USA vs. The World. Who cares if you beat GB in an event. People will look at you like, who gives a damn. But if you beat USA in an event, watch people go crazy for you. So all this jive over Usain Bolts means nothing. Endorsements are limited in his country. The only sponsor he will get is from Puma. . . . and even that is questionable. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by EloSela(f): 4:34pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
onyinye2: Only the Golds count. , Jamaica wins |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 4:36pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
EloSela:Now tell me how many Gold's have the men won vs. the women in Jamaica? That is what i thought. |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by A40(m): 4:46pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
The Jamaicans rule the tracks i dont even understand what the argument is about they have won 5 gold in individual events and they just took the relays so what are we comparing here?It was funny seeing Team USA dropping batons like hot potatoes this is just not their Olympics |
Re: Beijing 2008 Olympics - Athletics by onyinye2(f): 4:48pm On Aug 22, 2008 |
A-40: Correction. Jamaica is a good competition when it comes to SPRINTING. Anything other than that, they are completely useless. |
