Spread the word around and even passed this on to Church Pastors as this might be useful for them.

www.ChurchWhereAbouts.com website is an acclaimed global website visited by many Christian worshippers worldwide; it is used as a Christian guide for those who need directory knowledge of neighboring churches in the local vicinity, and Christian businesses to patronize.

MASTER OR SERVANT OF GOD

JAMES 3:1, LUKE 12:35-48, EZEKIEL 33:30-31

Servants of the MOST HIGH GOD are those who seek to do the bidding of the Almighty in Body, Soul and Spirit. They are those who are selfless in all they do for HIM.
They are the ones who always ready to obey God, those who are zealous in His service, those that work for Him without murmuring and complaining, they carry power and authority from above, they are humble, the are not hypocrites, They bear the marks of the Lord (Galatians 6:17), they always pray, they testify to God's goodness everyday and everywhere. they are those that are not motivated by the taught of heavenly reward, but by the love they have for God. They are those who would seek to protect the masters interest at all cost.

SOME HARD FACTS ( JOHN 15:15)
1. YOU DO NOT CHOOSE YOUR MASTER ( 1 PETER2:9)
2. YOU CAN'T BE A SON WITHOUT BEEN A SERVANT FIRST
3. NO SERVANT CHOOSES HIS PLACE OF ASSIGNMENT. ACTS 8:26
4. NO SERVANT CHOOSES HIS DUTY
5. NO SERVANT CAN BE BIGGER THAN THE MASTER ( LIKE 4:40)
6. NO SERVANT CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS FAITHFULLY
7. SATAN DECEIVES PEOPLE TO SERVE HIM INSTEAD OF GOD
8. EVERY SERVANT IS ACCOUNTABLE ( MATTHEW 7:21)

REMEMBER: " , there is a day of judgment that is coming",
choose wisely today. Are you a master or a servant of the LORD MOST HIGH?

DIRECTIONS TO OUR FATHER'S HOUSE.
Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd.

Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.

There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled
waters.

When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight.

You are on the King's Highway of Holiness - Heaven-bound.

Keep going for three miles:

One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Spirit.  Amen, Amen
Amen!.

Then exit off onto Grace Blvd.

From there, make a Right turn on Gospel Lane.

Keep Straight and then make another Right on Prayer Road.

As you go on your way,

Yield Not to the traffic on Temptation Ave.

Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END. (cul-de-sac)

Pass up Envy Drive, and Hate Avenue.

Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd.
However, you have to go down Long-suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. and
Trials and Tribulations Ave.

But that's all right, because VICTORY Street is straight ahead!
Glory AMEN!!!!!

SEND THESE DIRECTIONS TO YOUR FRIENDS SO THEY WILL NOT GET LOST.

Amen, Amen Amen!.

Should you obey your pastor and disregard your parents?

Well, a question that has been battling my mind for a long time. As a member of a pentecostal church (Redeemed church), which is predominately full of Nigerians in England. A church that is Nigerian cultured .

You have a pastor that uses the youth of the church a lot( bearing in mind that the youth are students that moved away from home to come to uni in another city) Pastor says A and you have to do it without questioning him and pastor rings you up , not to say hello but to tell you to come to church and do something for him, which can take four to five hours of your time. When you're not in church, pastor doesn't ring you up and we all know the parable in the bible about the farmer that looked for one of his lost sheep eventhough he had 99sheep left.

It now comes to a point that you start to tell your parents about it and your parents instructed you and also said that a pastor should be considerate that you are a student and you should not labour in vain or do things grudginly, if u don't want to do it, don't do it. And also it comes to a point that it starts to affect your studies and you just do things because the pastor says so and he says you have to obey Jesus servant.

The pastor is not happy (thinks your very disrespectful for not obeying him) and preaches about people that doesn't help out in church and the pastor emphasise that 'you live in the hostel, what's poking you to go home'?

Should you obey the pastor's commands and disobey your parents wishes? should you do church work and lack in your study? Should you do church work and you forget about your own salvation?

How can you go about it in a way that you wouldn't sin against God?

How would you go about it?

PLEASE DO SHARE YOUR IDEAS!! I'm sure loads of people will benefits from this discussion

funkilicious, how are you? it's a good thing that you actually opened up like this you know, alot of people are going through this same situation, many not opportuned to hear the right words.Hence they have done, alot of things which have very detrimental effect eventually, The Holy spirit is the source of true wisdom. I believe that a dialogue with your man of God would change alot of things. As your been in the U.k would be useless if you lack in your studies, Remember people celebrate only with succeesses and it is God's will as well that we succeed in all we do, Have a word with your pastor, tell him precisely how you feel. If he is not reasonable towards your plight, then, do everything that you can to please God alone not him.
Your school is very important, So assist in every way you can in the church, but never at the detriment of your studies. God bless you.

Hi all my good friend out there, we can help our self in christian way. However, I feel we can get together here in this thread and share our faith and love in true fellowship.

Do you have a word of encouragement? You want to admonish others? Do you have a topic to study together with others? Or is it a question? Do you have a song to share, an issue to pray about? Maybe yours is a word of revelation or a testimony? we can share it together.

Thanks.
Re: Nairaland Christian E-Fellowship by na2day2(m): 7:41pm On Nov 18, 2008
well, that pastor is abusing the use of power and these are the little things that keep people away from church. u should know that whatever u do in church that is not done whole heartily is worthless and there is no reward from God, therefore u r wasting ur valuable time. the bible declares that let everything be done with moderation, also the bible says we should redeem the time. baby girl, ur primary responsibility to which God sent u to that place is to school, so put that above other activities but be balanced, when u can without uncalled for pressure u will go do some service unto the Lord not ur pastor, and make sure it something u r happy doing as unto the Lord and God will reward u greatly. remember, many folks gave big offerings in Jesus days but he commended the poor widow because her service was heart felt. take care sis.

People of faith, people of God, It's been about 5yrs now that i've been walking with the father. The journey has not been a smooth sail in the least. Over and over again my faith in the most high has been tested,  sad to say however, i did not quite win all of those times. Infact, they were times i failed woefully and did not have the courage to go back to God,
Well,  before long, i began to understand that no matter my faults, failures and defeats, God is more than ready to take me back into his arms and put me right back on my feet.
Besides that, i remember how i have profaned God's name is my times of defeats, in my times of what i thought was loneliness and despair. But before long once more, despite all ,I was never alone.
It beats my imagination. I am still trying to fathom it. You know something,  very recently, i left the company i was working with, My dad actually got me the job. I left without telling him about it, he is based in the UK. He was so mad, He has not been speaking with me as he used to, even now; i very nearly beg most times to talk to me on phone.
That's the earthly father, but God would never do that, people of God, always remember, even when we are faithless; God would always be faithfull. And when we deny Him, he won't deny himself. He is God, what can he not do? Never again feel guilty. Just run to him. He is with you more than you can ever imagine.
Re: Nairaland Christian E-Fellowship by phemmy400(m): 5:58am On Nov 20, 2008
You know something? God told me once. he said ; "son, you are mine, no one can take you away from me." How true those words have been. I backslidded a lot of times, yet some how; i find myself back with God, doing exactly what he wants. Yes wrongs, they are inevitable. But we have a father, who loves us beyong any flaw we may have. Remember that He is not looking for a perfect man No! He is looking for a foolish man, he is looking for a stupid, senseless and useless man so that He would tranform that man to an embodiment of glory and splendour. So that the world may know that He is God. and that He is forever reigning and ruling in the Kindgom of men. I am one of those men he changed. Today i am a witness.God bless you

Mark Shaible is a fierce competitor. Whether it is running, biking or flying jets, Mark is determined to be the best.

Mark: Anything that I went after, I went after 100 percent. My first year in motorcross, I finished number one in the state of Kansas, and Texas. First triathlons I ran, I finished first.

And as a pilot in the United States Air Force, he’s also at the top of the list as one of the best test pilots in the country.

Mark: In my mind, it was absolutely nothing that I felt I couldn't do.

That is until April of 1999.

Mark: I went out and raced in a triathlon and got smoked by people that I normally would beat. And I also had a pain in my leg. So, one of the doctors said, “Hey, let's just go do an MRI of it and make sure there's nothing wrong there, and let's go do some blood-work.”

Mark thought he had merely pulled or torn something. But he was shocked when he heard the test results.

Mark: Went down to the oncologist, they took us in. The first thing he said was, “Hey, we think we see some cancer cells in your blood.” I don't know anything about cancer; that's horrifying, because if it's in your blood, that means it's everywhere.

Further tests proved that it was even worse.

Mark: When the bone marrow biopsy came back, it said over 90 percent of the cells in the sample were cancerous.

Mark was diagnosed with a rare and incurable orphan cancer called Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia. There are less than 3,000 known cases of this kind of cancer. Its victims are usually 60 years or older. Mark was only 34.

Mark: Being a pilot, I really have never been afraid.

That is until now. But even through his fear of facing this deadly disease, Mark approached his cancer like everything else in life – head on with a mission to beat it.

Mark: We’re like, OK great. Hey, it’s not going to kill me tomorrow. We’re going to beat this thing. My philosophy was “OK, what happens if we take all the chemotherapy at once?” Again, control freak. I did not want something in my body that I could not control. I did not want it to be a part of me. I wanted it out. I wanted it gone. I wanted back control of my life.

But ‘control’ was quickly slipping through his fingers. The cancer was aggressively taking over his body and all medical efforts proved futile.

Mark: Basically, my body had turned on itself and was destroying my central nervous system; and I was about 24 to 48 hours away from stopping breathing. I couldn't move anything. I was basically fully paralyzed, lost control of the left side of my face.

Once a man who prided himself on being invincible was now weak, fragile and staring his own mortality in the face.

Mark: With this autoimmune disorder, if we cannot stop this, it’s going to kill your red blood cells.

Kristi Watts: If it kills them, what happens?

Mark: Then your done for. That was the turning point, a big huge turning point for me because my son was 10-months-old. And unless we could stop it, I wouldn't live long enough to see him turn one.

During this time, a family member began sharing the love and healing power of Jesus Christ to Mark. And while he eventually gave his life over to the Lord, he couldn’t give up everything to Him.

Kristi: Was it difficult to trust him?

Mark: It was hard releasing it to God. You can trust God, but there’s a question of what you’re going to release to Him. “OK God, you can have this part, you can have my salvation, I can go to heaven. But all this other stuff I'll take care of.” I believed what the Bible said, but I wanted it now. So, I would go through chemotherapy and I’d start feeling better. Again, I wanted to prove it, so I’d go do triathlons and mountain bike races and run and bike and do all this kind of stuff. I had my spleen taken out and the week after I got out of the hospital, I think I biked 275 miles that week. So I was out biking like 50 miles with staples in. My doctor is like, “What are you doing? You could rip your stitches.”

Kristi: What were you trying to prove? Were you trying to prove something?

Mark: I wanted to prove that cancer was not a part of my life. I wanted to prove that I was still in control of my life; that cancer was not going to define me.”

But no matter how hard Mark tried to fight the disease on his own, his health continued to get worse.

Mark: I had a lot of issues: being partially (about four times) or totally paralyzed, brain surgery, lost my spleen, lost my gall bladder, kidney stones, shingles. I went through chemo about a dozen times. I had lung puncture biopsies, spinal taps.

Mark wanted his life to change. And he finally realized that he didn’t have the power to change it, but he knew who did.

Mark: At that point I was like, “OK, God, I give it totally up to you. It's all up to you. I give my life up to you. I know you're in control. And I know that whatever you do, it's going to be for your glory, not for mine.”

It was in that place of total submission that God became real to Mark. For the first time in his life, Mark felt peace and put his complete trust in God.

Mark: At that point, I knew that I knew in my heart that I was going to be cured.

Shortly thereafter Mark received a bone marrow transplant, and to everyone’s surprise Mark’s recovery was remarkable.

Mark: Eight days after transplant, I was out, working out at 24 hour fitness. It's been three and a half years disease free.

Today Mark has a completely different outlook on life. He gives God all the credit for restoring not only his body, but his family and his future. He’s back doing all of the things he loves. But most importantly, sharing the love and healing power of Jesus Christ.

Mark: In the military we have a thing called the wingman that flies beside you, that covers you. You may be the one that's in the spotlight, you're the shooter, but your wingman is always there to protect you. God is my wingman. He's there all the time running interferance for me; making sure that things always turn out right. Make God the focal point of your life. You can enter a relationship with Him and your life will be much more fruitful. You'll have peace that you will never have anywhere else if you make God your wingman and bring Him into your life.

Hi my people,

It's been a while. Thank God you are still standing! You know what? The Devil didn't know you will still be!! He would have devoured you long ago? But praise God, you are still standing tall for God. That means the devil actually lost you. Halleluyah!! Yes he did. You know what? You may not be where you want to be yet. But thank God you are not where you used to be!!

Think well, friend. You are not where you used to be. That means you are actually making progress. Hey! It does imply too that your tomorrow will be better than today. The path of the righteous is one that shines more and more. May your path shine more and more, beloved. You have what it takes. The Greater One is in you to achieve great things in your life. Go forth and be who you were meant to be in Jesus name.

Bless y'all.

vicero give us more details about your friend (school, level, condition etc) and how we may help.

phemmy400, God bless you. Stay connected to the Lord. How is Bunmi faring? Love to her.
Re: Nairaland Christian E-Fellowship by Analytical(m): 1:11pm On Nov 20, 2008
Funkilicious, it is better to obey God rather than man. You are also commanded to obey and honour your parents (you are still under them) so that it may be well with you. Then you should also obey those you are accountable to. However, there shouldn’t be conflict. A student studies. Working in the church and serving God are not the same things. You can do one without the other.

No one should be made to serve out of compulsion. It then becomes null and void. Your pastor should understand that. I don’t think it’s also right to keep insisting that you must obey him because he is Jesus’ servant when it is clearly jeopardising your studies. It is also not too wise telling your parents of every demand on your time that the pastor or service demands. Find a balance between the two. Discuss this with your pastor. If he persists, bring it to the attention of his superior or think of changing parish. Serving God is no excuse for failure.

@ Analytical, I'm finishing uni next summer, so it ain't long that I'm going to leave but I will miss the children department. However, I'm still going to stand my ground till then. I'm only going to do things if I'm willing to and if I don't mind without anyone enforcing it upon me.
But I tell my parents most things,  My parents live in London and I go to uni outside London, so they ring me most of the time.
Why is it unwise to tell parents?
Re: Nairaland Christian E-Fellowship by Analytical(m): 2:28pm On Nov 20, 2008
Funkilicious, I said it is not too wise to tell your parents of every demand on your time; either by the church, service, school or even personal. Parents by nature are protective. This is good but could be counter-productive at times, especially when they are over-protective. Young adults should be given a certain amount of liberty to make choices and decisions on their own and take responsibility for its consequences. That is the way we grow and learn from experiences. As you grow up, your parents’ influence should change from that of controlling to advisorial. This way, you learn to be independent and stand on your own, while they offer good counsels. No parent wants a grown baby!

Raymond88, u should not be surprised, are they not all born again religious fanatics in Nigeria, yet the country is the capital of evil. It`s all a cover. The bible says he without sin, caste the first stone. Shout ole (thief) in Nigeria after sunday service, the same church going and god fearing people will not think twice about beating the accused to death.
