First off: conversions happen all the time, man follows the woman to church or the mosque, they're not exceptional events. Conversions have existed since religious history; Adam is quite (in)famous for following Eve in doing wrong, something the bible story appears to indicate he did quite deliberately . . . An admission is that because of the proliferation of churches and the exceptional social networking that results, churches are quite well placed to take advantage.

But have you seen what happens where the woman is non-docile, logic-heavy, very well-educated, and a working professional? The dynamics ofthe relationship changes quite much in circumstances as these. Both Christianity and Islam are partriachial religions, where women traditionally have small roles and much fewer rights than the men; I have to admit that contemporary Christianity appears to be moving ahead with this, and especially in countries with a strong bent towards equality.

There's another choice than conversion of one or the other: living together with mutual respect. This, in Nigerian examples that I've seen requires mutual respect, and works well if the woman is not disadvantaged educationally and financially. Elsewhere, working Muslim women are holding their own with the support of the state.
