upper control arm joint, replace the leaking rubber. Or the upper control arm if it is defective.

Mr G, my 05 corolla auto jerks when going into 2nd gear, this started a few days ago. I last changed my tranny fluid about a year ago with toyota type t-iv. What could be wrong please.

Playing I just purchased a Toyota corolla 2000, being my first car and still learning, what are the tips to maintain the car (a used naija car).

GAZZUZZ:

upper control arm joint, replace the leaking rubber. Or the upper control arm if it is defective.

I did just that and found out my 'tie-rod' and ball joint needed replacement.

On another note, I drained my transmission oil around April last year, is it due for change? It doesn't smell burnt and it's not short

manual says 30,000miles, but I'll recommend drain and refil every 15,000miles, to keep the fluid fresh at all times.

Is it 5w30 or 5w40 or what? (check label)

Also check your manufacturer specification. If there's any discrepancy, change ASAP

Note that the condition of your engine can also be a factor here.

oil change should not cause a significant change in fuel consumption. RUN a scan, look out for O2 sensor codes and misfires.

check engine mounts (engine seat) they could be torn.

Usually I park the car straight, on this occasion front tyres where parked curved, and I left it after the click sound it makes that's when I started experiencing the issue.

what are the road conditions you ply every day? They are both very durable vehicles.
