If Keshi should go it should be in another 3 or 4 years if and when Manu Garba has successfully transited his cup winning eaglets through the ranks to take the helm at the top coaching job. That is development. Any other thing is mere gambling. Oliseh everyone is pandering is an untested quantity. He should be tested at cadet level and allowed to grow into the senior coaching job. Is he a Diego Simeone or a Pep Guardiola? No one knows. Senior teams are not roulette tables where you spin and take a punt. Keshi had antecedents and he came through as expected. Every national team coach must have a track record or....change nothing.

Sunday Oliseh is the most qualified Nigerian Coach aside Chelsea's Emenalo who obviously Nigeria can't afford.
Keshi has achieved much with the SE there's not much left to fight for and who will stay to endure not being paid as at when due, when you have better suitors? Best thing naim baba do, leave when ovation is loud before you mess things up like Yobo.

And what makes Oliseh and Emenalo the most qualified to handle the senior national team of Nigeria. What?

Please don't mind those basketmouths... When Westerhof did the same with a team he built in 5 years, everyone praised him for being so successful. Now Keshi has equalled Westerhof's achievement with a team he built in 2 years... still people feel he's not good enough and they call him a local champion. If you call him a local champion, then Otto Glória and Clemens Westerhof were also local champions, making 3 local champions in Green Eagles/Super Eagles history. And that would make all other white-skinned coaches (no pun intended) we've had local minors and international flops. So is Stephen Keshi in very good company or not?

Late short -- If you run a marathon in 2 hours 30 minutes, and I do same in 2 hours 10 minutes, who's greater?

And Keshi started with a smaller pool of talented player introducing more new players to the national team than Westerhof did. Before Westerhof came we had key talent in striking, wing play and defence. Where he made improvements were in the midfield and between the posts. Keshi met a team bereft of talent completely and has managed to raise the game of every player save Mikel. That includes Enyeama, Efe, Osaze amongst others. That is good coaching. New young players, disciplined team and hope for a better future. All these are now at stake. We allowed Abacha era politics rob us of a generation of great players. Now we are at it again.

Thank you, Reference! You killed it with this. And @bolded, that's my fear. Hope we don't make the same mistake again.

keshi should go, he doesn't know how to read game. he lack technical tactics compare to foreign coaches. what NFF should do now is to go for foreign coach. if they want Nigeria coach is better for them to beg keshi or else they will go back to square one. keshi gooo!!!!!"!!” abeg you don't know how to coach. all the best keshi.

i like Keshi alot... i think hes the best local coach we av at the moment
but he has to get some things right.....the mere fact that Nigeria won the AFCON was not his making alone......a lot of credit must go to the NFF for providing the team with the necessary arrangements needed to be successful.....when a team is not doing well the coach and the administrators take the blame and when they are doing well....they should also take the credit togeda......but Keshi's attitude is unbecoming....
no one forced him into coming to coach Nigeria.....and he has an Ex footballer should have known better that no one takes that hot seat and expect to all a smooth ride,,,, not after what the fans did to their favorite Samson Saisia........160 million Nigerians are coaches and they are passionate.....they have the right to their opinion......from his past experience ....he knows we are not patient and even when building a team for the future...nigerians still expect you to win and play good football......

because he took Nigeria to the second round and becoming the first black coach to achieve that....and the noise from southafrica does not mean he is above the NFF or we will continue to beg him each time he wants to quit......

my take is if truly he wants to quit the National team.....then Mr President should not come in and stop him this time around.....let him go....Nigeria will not die....Renard took Zambia to win the AFCON in 2012 and what has he achieved since leaving the post....he went to socheaux in France and instead of taken them out of relegation in January took out of Ligue 1....

.one of the downfall of Renard in Zambia was that the first team could easily be predicted and no new faces were injected ..so people studied dem and dey didnt pass the first round in the next AFCON....Nigeria is fast becoming like Zambia....Onazi out and we lost ..no worthy replacement.....Ogbogbona, Echejile etc.....if Vincent retires now....who steps in....Keshi in great now but he should strive to be greater and what will make him greater is his ability to rise above critics and perform...

look at Shehata of Egypt from 2006-2010 built arguably one of the best team of the century.....he was focused to make a point that each AFCON was not a fluke and he will forever be adored.he was critised but held on.......so if Keshi wants to leave let him leave

Go to south africa Keshi....where they have the Money and structure but no talents......the dream of every player from south african is to play for Orlando Pirate or Kaiser Chiefs....what a shame.....Nigeria has better players.....go and coach them and lets see who will perform better .....Goodluck......

as for NFF....its time to go aboard again......get a coach that is ready to come and live in nigeria and work....we dont need a big name that will be above control..or want to coach from europe....Keshi has shone that if u give the local boys chance all others will sit up and not arrive later to camp or show any indiscipline.....get a Claude de roy, Phillip trousseir or Haver Renard who will stay in tune with the local coaches in nigeria...
ENOUGH OF BEGGING.....WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENNED IF KESHI HAS REACHED THE QUARTER FINALS........
goodluck NFF....

shadrach77: Keshi is using psychology on the country. It worked once and he believes it will work again. If anybody should be begging it should be him, for the woeful outing of the Eagles. If the NFF know what is good for the country, they should kick his arse out and get a technically sound handler for the Eagles. Why will a sensible coach
(A) take two players who are unattached to any club to the World Cup ?
(B) make a change in the 90th minute when the match has almost ended
(C) fail to make any tactical change to change the course of the game
(D) take Shola Amoebi to the World Cup
(E) drop several talented players only to take nonentities to the World Cup ?

He is a local champion. The nation does not need him

fubbyy: Am not surprised that nobody liked this your post, if anyone did, that person doesn't know anything about football

Geez, what is wrong with this country sef? a man we all praised, calling football god, skippo, best coach and so on just about 15 months ago, he's now an a$$ hole because of a tournament we all know he came out with a good result

What were you all expecting? To win the world cup? Lol.. Some of you must be joking, that will definitely happen someday but the team must be built to reach that level which is what keshi is doing

As long as football is concern, nigeria did well in this tournament, the only match they didn't do well is against iran, others bam well

Make them change coach and start afresh, they think say eeeazy to coach a team

If keshi is quitting I know its a result of criticism that comes from nigerians,I support am sef, abeg make him resign go take better job somewhere, nigerians are ungrateful
Well said..The guy is clueless am sure he has not achieved anything meaningful in life..he is a Yeye Arm chair ODE

In deed. foreign coaches like Lager beer and vogts? What did they achieve for nigeria? The best Nigerian side that we have had won the afcon in 1994 and got to second round of that year's world cup after about four years under the erudite coach~ Western Clement. Keshi's team after about two years acheived that same feat. SO what are you saying?

Breaking NewsAfter their return from Brazil World cup yestaday, the Super Eagles were so ashamed of their defeat that they decided to disguise themselves so as not to be recognized.Mikel disguised himself as a monk and was walking on the street when suddenly an old lady walked up to him and said "Mikel how far na?". Mikel was so surprised that he ran away annoyed that the old woman could recognize him despite his disguise. Disappointed, he went home and dressed as a pregnant woman, again he bumped into the same old lady and she said, "Mikel how far na, see as you just run the away". Confused and frustrated Mikel asked "but mama how do you keep recognizing me despite my disguises"?The old lady replied: "Hahaha, Mikel na wa for you oh, look me well na, It's me Yobo"

Keshi is just tryn to hold us on Ransome so that we can start raising banners up #BRING BACK OUR KESHI#. Spain have always be an underachiever despite their lot of talent at their disposal but Aragones brought them to lame light with a perfect mission to European titles in 2008.When he left for fanabache we all taught that is d end for Spain Del Bosque came and bring more to their fortune. if he want to go let him go we don't have have to be licking his shoes for him to stay, u disappoint us in a tournament we have to beg u more not to get angry. What I just no for sure is dat another hero will emerge Nigerian soccer will live on. pls Dnt misinterpret me am not an antikeshi he is a coach I love to see with the supereagles but when u are taking advantage of that I got no option than to discard him. Long live Niger soccer
