FAITH AND WORKS
TEXT: HEBREWS 11:1-9

"Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?" (James 2:22).

A writer describes faith as "Being sure that God, who created everything, takes care of things better than any human hands ever could." This ties in with the definition in Hebrews 11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Faith in Christianity is a central theme taught by Jesus Himself in reference to the gospel (Good News). According to Jesus' teaching, faith is an act of trust and self-abandonment in which people no longer rely on their own strength and policies but commit themselves to the power and guiding word of Him in whom they believe.

Unfortunately, many people, especially young believers today are confused about the relationship between faith and works, and this has serious consequences on their relationship with God. You don't do good works to be saved but you do good works because you are saved. So the relationship between faith and works is simple. You are saved by faith, not by works. But, once saved, you do good works because you are already saved.

Chɑllenge: "Do good works after you have been saved."

Prɑyer: "Help me, oh Lord to have total faith in you."

Quote: "You are saved by grace."

PERFECT PEACE
TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:7

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).

During the historic release of the children of Israel from captivity in Egypt and their precarious movement through the wilderness, God promised them perfect peace, even in that darkest period of their lives. That same promise comes to every child of God today, especially those who are surrounded by much gloom and depression, or are constantly threatened with the three great human enemies of doubt, fear and worry.

Most young people do not take God's promise of perfect peace seriously, particularly when all is going well, and the skies are bright. They distrust and disobey God, choosing to live their lives their own way. But when clouds of trial, disappointment, fear and alarm drift across their sky and the sun is hidden, only then will they remember to run to the Lord. Most often, this happens when it is too late. The Bible encourages Christians to believe that while in their earthly bodies, they shall experience freedom from trouble. But the promise of inward peace in the midst of trouble is far better. Only Jesus gives perfect peace.

Chɑllenge: "Do you abandon God when all is fine with you?"

Prɑyer: "Lord, teach me to rely on you."

Quote: "Only Jesus gives perfect peace."

SINCERELY PRAY FOR SOMEONE
TEXT: ROMANS 1:8

"I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers" (Philemon 1:4).

Prayer is a strong weapon in the hand of a believer. You can achieve the impossible through fervency in prayer. Never write anybody off for any reason. If you discover any anomaly in the life of anyone, take the issue to the Lord in prayer and you will be surprised at what the Lord can do. According to Gordon Cove, "Praying people in the Bible were intercessors. Abraham pleaded for Sodom and Gomorrah. Samuel prayed all night for Saul, and continually interceded for the nation. Daniel prayed for the deliverance of the Lord's people from Babylon." It is necessary to touch the lives of people you know by constantly praying for them until the Lord intervenes in their lives.

Prayer moves mountains and makes formidable walls to crumble. When people present difficult problems to you, boldly take them to the Lord in prayer believing God for His divine intervention. As a child of God, your prayer can make a lot of difference. Have you prayed for someone today? Look around you and discover those who need your deep intercessory prayers.

Chɑllenge: "Your prayer can make a lot of difference."

Prɑyer: "Lord Jesus, give me grace to pray for someone every day."

Quote: "Prayer is a strong weapon."

JOINT HEIRS WITH JESUS
TEXT: Galatians 3:29

"For whosoever shall do the Will of My Father which is in heaven, the same is My brother, and sister, and mother" (Matthew 12:50).

The term 'heirs of God' emphasises our relationship with God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul, the great apostle, captured this succinctly in his epistles to the Romans, "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together" (Romans 8:17). A writer opined that the Greek term translated "heirs" in the above passage refers to "Those who receive their allotted possession by right of son-ship." It means that, because God has made us His children, we have full rights to His inheritance. We are His beneficiaries. Christ's inheritance is the whole universe, all that is in existence. Being a co-heir with Jesus implies that we, as God's adopted children, will partake in the inheritance of the Lord.

Our everlasting inheritance as co-heirs with Christ is the essence of the amazing grace of God. We exhibit the grace of God by leading righteous and holy lives. We must be Christ-like in all that we say and do. Obedience to God's word is imperative.

Chɑllenge: "Be Christ-like."

Prɑyer: "Help me Lord, to do your perfect will."

Quote: "We have full rights to His inheritance."

EAT RIGHT: A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
TEXT: Psalm 104:14

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat" (Genesis 1:29).

In her book, Lifelong Health, Dr. Mary Ruth Swope asserted, "We all like to eat, but food is worthless if it contains no nutrients. Some foods are valued above others because they supply more nutrients to your body. Soft drinks are void of any nutrient except sugar. Milk, on the hand, is so full of food value that it could make up the bulk of an adult diet, as long as it included foods containing iron and vitamin C. Goat's milk is best, of course." Note also that as we take the physical balanced diet, so do we need to take balanced spiritual meal too.

Many youths today don't take balanced diet because of ignorance. All the food you need for a balance diet is available in our markets. Equally important is eating the right spiritual meal. You must grow from taking milk to strong meat. Those who run after miracles, signs and wonders but run away from holiness or deny Christ during persecutions are not eating balanced spiritual meal. Balance your diet.

Chɑllenge: "Food is worthless if it contains no nutrients."

Prɑyer: "O God, help me to eat right."

Quote: "Balance your diet."

HE SAYS AND DOES IT - 1
TEXT: GENESIS 18:14

"Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son" (Genesis 18:14).

Our God is faithful. He has never promised and failed. He does what He says He will do. He cannot be limited. He has the power to do all things no matter how difficult such things may seem to be. That is why He is known as omnipotent God. Nothing is too hard for Him to do. "Often times it is difficult to see how certain promises of God are to be realised. We have nothing to do with that whatever! God keeps our hands off His promises quite as surely as He keeps them off His stars. If He will not let us intermeddle with His planets, He will not ask us to have anything to do with the working and realisation of His promises." That is the assertion of Dr. Joseph Parker.

Always claim the promises of God as outlined in the scriptures. Whenever you are reading your Bible or listening to messages from anointed men of God, watch out for His promise as it relates to your situation and claim it. God will definitely do as He has said.

Chɑllenge: "Claim God's promises as outlined in the Bible."

Prɑyer: "Father, help me to trust your word."

Quote: "Our God is faithful."

BLESSINGS TO CLAIM
TEXT: Numbers 6:24-26

"The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace" (Numbers 6:24-26).

God blesses His children in an unprecedented manner. A songwriter who knows how God can really bless His people demonstrates assurance in God's promises in the following lines: "There shall be showers of blessing. This is the promise of love; There shall be seasons refreshing. Sent from the Saviour above." The chorus reads: "Showers of blessing, Showers of blessing we need; Mercy drops round us are falling, But for the Showers we plead."

Christians are highly favoured people because they serve a living and caring God. The journey to enjoying God's unlimited blessings begins from the point you give your life to Christ. Those who jettison the salvation plan of God cannot really benefit from God's store house. As a Christian youth, God will surely bless all your endeavours. God will bless you with the excellent Spirit that will give you all round breakthroughs. Whatever is your situation, remember there shall be showers of blessing for God's people. Don't forget that there are hindrances to God's blessings. Unbelief, doubt and lack of intimate relationship with God can hinder His blessings in your life.

Chɑllenge: "God can bless you."

Prɑyer: "Heavenly Father, bless me today, in Jesus name."

Quote: "There shall be showers of blessing."

LOVE THE BOOK OF LANDMARKS
TEXT: Isaiah 34:16

"Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and His spirit it hath gathered them" (Isaiah 34:16).

According to Jamieson-Fausset-Brown's Commentary, the book of the Lord is, "…the volume in which the various prophecies and other parts of Scripture began henceforward to be collected together." All the volumes put together is the Bible. It is the Word of God, given by Him and written down by over forty inspired men of God at different times spanning a period of over 1800 years. The Bible is greater than any book- the best of documentaries, encyclopedias, as well as philosophical and creative literatures of all time. The Bible is regarded as the ‘book of landmarks.' It records the beginning of all things; the creation and fall of man, and God's plan of redemption.

A church manual declares about the Bible thus: "It is the record of God's dealing with men: past, present and future. It contains God’s message of eternal salvation to all who believe in Christ and of eternal damnation to those who rebel against the gospel" (John 3:18, 36). There is no option to this divine Book: love it, trust it and obey it for your good.

Chɑllenge: "Allow the scriptures to change your life."

Prɑyer: "Oh Lord, I love your word. In all my life conduct, help me to apply it."

Quote: "The Bible is greater than any book."

TWO GREAT TREASURES
TEXT: Proverbs 8:10-21

"In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Colossians 2:3).

A treasure is a valuable thing. Objects such as diamond and gold are treasures. They are found deep in the ground and must be mined. Wisdom and knowledge are abstract themes but they are even more valuable than the precious solid minerals. Without wisdom and knowledge your life will be empty, aimless and painful. While knowledge is awareness of the world around us or having information, facts, ideas, truth and principles, wisdom is the right way you analyze and apply knowledge. "Wisdom opens the eyes both to the glories of heaven and to the hollowness of earth," says J. A. Motyer.

You cannot live a happy and God-pleasing life without knowledge of God's word and divine wisdom. Worldly wisdom is devilish. Jesus is the wisdom of God and you need Him. King Solomon had great knowledge and wisdom yet fell. Jesus is the "Greater than Solomon." No philosopher or religious personality, from the East to West, compares with Him in these treasures. Connect to Jesus for them by inviting Him into your heart and they will be yours.

Chɑllenge: "Solomon fell, though knowledgeable and wise: Look unto Jesus."

Prɑyer: "Give me, oh God. treasures of eternal value, in Jesus name."

Quote: "Connect to Jesus for them."

ACTION, MORE ACTION!
TEXT: ECCLESIASTES 9:10

"Whatever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might: for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest" (Ecclesiastes 9:10).

Living things are full of actions; the moment actions cease, life itself ceases. However, we are not talking about the characteristics of living things such as: movement, reproduction and nutrition. We are talking about important things we do that can improve our lives, families, church, nations and the world at large. Graham Bell invented the first practical telephone. That was action. Microsoft Word is the invention of Bill Gates. That was action. How about Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook fame; William Shakespeare who wrote many poems and plays, such as Julius Ceaser; and Florence Nightingale, the nurse who laboured to improve hospital sanitation? Look at this acronym of ACTION: Addiction to hard and purposeful work, Creative thinking with vision-based plans, Training and retraining for excellence in career, Initiative in pursuing your life goals, including making heaven, Occupying your time with prayer and productive activities, Never regretting failures but keep moving towards your goal with faith.

God's beloved, be committed to good actions. Take actions you will not regret but can look back at with joy while leaving this world.

Chɑllenge: "Well done is much better than well said."

Prɑyer: "Oh God, help me to do always what i must do, in Jesus name."

Quote: "Be committed to good actions."

HORROR IN HELL
TEXT: LUKE 16:25

"But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented" (Luke 16:25).

American psychiatrist Morgan Scott Peck said: "There is no worse bitterness than to reach the end of your life and realise you have not lived." Such was the case of the rich man in our text today.

The rich man, endowed with all good things, lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. However, he discovered too late that he actually did not live. He had the idea of his relationship with the father of faith, Abraham, but neglected his faith. However, the man had full consciousness in hell fire - he recognised Abraham and Lazarus. Tormented in the unquenching flame, he called on Father Abraham for a drop of water, but was denied. Abraham referred to him as son, but none of his requests was answered. There are many professed "Sons" in hell today. Repentance and faith in Christ is the only way to escape the horror of hell.

Chɑllenge: "The greatest pain in hell will be the lost opportunity to make heaven."

Prɑyer: "Lord, give me the grace to walk the narrow path."

Quote: "Repentance, the only way to escape."

PATIENCE PROMOTES
TEXT: James 5:7-11

"In your patience possess ye your souls" (Luke 21:19).

A Navy jet fighter shot itself down over the deserts of Nevada while testing a new cannon mounted on its wings. The plane was flying at supersonic speed, but the cannon shells were subsonic. What happened was crucial. The fighter actually ran into the shells it had fired seconds before. The jet was travelling too fast. Indeed this is jet age. The maxim "sharp, sharp," or "fast, fast" has permeated every facet of youths' daily living. Some cannot endure a long message.

They get disconnected and tune off or engage in unsavoury activities and irreverent behaviours in the church. What an untoward generation! No patience for God, self and others. Sometimes youths are too hasty to their own detriment. Youths today do not know what it means to be patient and tarry before God. Quiet-Time should be enriching as you tarry before God, not snappy prayers. Don't travel too fast with your life and leave God behind, for your life may end up in ruins. Saul's impatience cost him the kingdom. Learn to wait, and wait patiently on the Lord.

Chɑllenge: "Christian youth, cultivate the spirit of patience, its fruit is sweet."

Prɑyer: "Dear Lord Jesus, help me to be patient in all I do."

Quote: "Wait patiently on the Lord."

QUICKLY, QUICKLY
TEXT: Revelation 3:15-22

"And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be" (Revelation 22:12).

In today's text, Jesus tell us how quickly He will come to reward every man according to his works. He means exactly what He says and you can rely on His statement of fact. He will come again, as promised, to receive believers to heaven. As a Christian, wait for the Lord's coming to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Accept Him as your Lord and Saviour now by confessing your sins and surrendering your life to Him. In this way, you will be sure of spending eternity with Him. A promised reward often evokes commitment to work.

Most people remember their childhood years when parents pledged them gifts for their obedience, good behaviour, and diligence to duty or excellent performance at school. The thought usually prompts total compliance with parents' desires. Sometimes, parents may fail to fulfill such a promise, to the chagrin of their children. This is not so with the Lord Jesus Christ. If He has given you assurance of eternity with Him, He will be consistent with it, for His promises are "yea and amen."

Chɑllenge: "Some youths don't live as if Christ is coming back again."

Prɑyer: "Help me to hold on to your promise, Oh Lord."

Quote: "A promise reward evokes commitment."

LIFE-LONG FOODS
TEXT: Psalm 119:97-105

"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart" (Jeremiah 15:16).

A story was told of a young girl, Victoria, who visited her friend, Grace, in company of her mother. On their arrival, Grace was taking her lunch and her mum urged her to share with Victoria, which she obeyed. Victoria's ration was added. Apparently, Grace was eating one of her best dishes. As Grace observed that Victoria was eating beyond her expectation, she burst out in anger, saying, "eat until your belly bursts." Victoria paid no attention but continued eating. This shows how, like Victoria, most teenagers love food. Youths love a variety of foods, and sometimes eat beyond health limits.

Today's text reveals food that does not only make you healthy but also gives you joy, peace, and satisfaction. The word of God is a life-giving food to souls. Jeremiah found it, ate it, and derived joy and happiness from it. How do you receive God's word? Do you feed on it daily? God's word will place you on a high pedestal to victorious Christian living. It will transform your views about life and guarantee your health, joy and peace.

Chɑllenge: "The Bible is food for your soul, feed on it."

Prɑyer: "Dear Lord, create in me the hunger and thirst for your word."

Quote: "God's word is life-giving food."

THE BOOK OF BOOKS
TEXT: PSALM 1:1-6

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly... his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night" (Psalm 1:1,2).

Books are carriers of civilization. Without books, history is silent, literature dumb, science crippled, and thought at a standstill. Books are humanity in print. Yes! The Holy Bible is an excellent book, transcending all books. It is a miracle of literature in its transformation, altogether inexplicable with God as its Author. "No Bible, no breakfast; no Scripture, no sleep" is a well-known maxim in Christendom.

Our text reveals that God's blessings are accrue to you if you delight in His Word, reading and meditating on it day and night. It is not enough to flip through Bible pages. You must study it carefully, painstakingly and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal and apply its truth to life situations. Pray for grace to obey and live by God's Word. Claim His promises and resolve to be faithful is serving Him. In so doing, you will be happy now and in eternity in heaven.

Chɑllenge: "To grow in faith, you must meditate on God's Word."

Prɑyer: "Lord, help me to be committed to reading and meditating on your Word."

Quote: "Study carefully, painstakingly."

HELPFUL HYGIENE
TEXT: Revelation 19:5-9

"Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment" (Ecclesiastes 9:8).

It is often said that "cleanliness is next to Godliness." This signifies that cleanliness is equated to living a life approved of God. The Lord expect us to maintain purity of heart and life. The bible says, "be ye clean that bear the vessels of the Lord" (Isaiah 52:11), emphasizing the importance of cleanliness to God.

Our text today says, "let thy garments be always white." If your white garment is expected to be consistently kept white, it implies that your life-style must be pure, both physically and spiritually. Your body, the cloth you wear, the food you eat, your environment must be kept clean. Keep your surroundings clean. Wash your clothes regularly. Maintain personal hygiene by washing your mouth, morning and night. Cut your nails, and keep your hair neat. Keep your rooms clean and tidy. Wash your kitchen wares and maintain proper food hygiene. These practices will help promote your health and prevent diseases. Most importantly, keep your heart clean for the Lord, and make yourself worthy of eternal life.

Chɑllenge: "Without Holiness you cannot see God."

Prɑyer: "Lord, help me to be pure within and without."

Quote: "Keep your heart clean."

PARENTAL INSTRUCTIONS
TEXT: Hebrew 12:5-11

"A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent" (Proverbs 15:5).

An African proverb says when a child is cutting a tree, the elders know the direction the tree will fall. Our parents gives us instruction based on their experiences in life. They knew the painful and regretful stories of disobedient children in the past. Hence C.H. Spurgeon cried out," O fathers and mothers, the ruin of your children or their salvation, will, under God, very much depend on you." Therefore, youths must give heed to godly advice and corrections from their parents, teachers, spiritual leaders and elders for them to succeed and soar like eagles.

Our Bible text above teaches us the importance of parental instruction and obedience to parental advice by children for their own good. God testified of Abraham as a good family man and disciplinarian: "For I know him that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord …" (Genesis 18:19). His son, Isaac, submitted himself to his correction and it was well with him.

Chɑllenge: "Neglect of parental guidance is an invitation to regret."

Prɑyer: "Father, make me an obedient child."

Quote: "Give heed to godly counsel and corrections."

BELIEVE GOD, DOUBT YOUR DOUBTS
TEXT: Psalm 78:19, 20

"Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? Can he provide flesh for his people?" (Psalm 78:19, 20).

When you doubt God or His word, you are saying that God cannot be trusted; that He is not all knowing, all powerful and all present. Moreover, it implies that He does not love you enough to care for you. "Believe God's word more than you believe your own feelings and experiences," says Samuel Rutherford. When questions arise in your mind, do not allow them destroy your faith in God, rather turn away from the wind of fear and anxiety and look at the word of God. Fight the questions, until your seeds of doubt change to seeds of faith. Some of the questions stem from people's wrong interpretation of the present facts, such as poverty, pain and poor performance in a test.

You tend to lose faith when life gets really difficult. Do not let the sands of doubt destroy the foundation of your faith. Remember, Jesus is the answer for your doubts and fears, He's God on the mountain and in the valley, God in the day and in the night. If God says it, it is true. Believe it.

Chɑllenge: "Doubt your doubts, else doubt your faith."

Prɑyer: "Lord, please help my unbelief."

Quote: "If God says it, it is true."

SIGNS OF THE END
TEXT: Mark 13:1-37

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows" (Mark 13:8).

With the help of the mass media, the world has been reduced to a global village. Any major event taking place in any part of the world can be known everywhere within a short time. In recent times, Christ's prophecies on signs of the End Times are being fulfilled globally. These signs include: lawlessness, wars, famines and earthquakes. Equally, there are floods, storms, and terrorist activities today, leading to huge loss of lives and properties. People are shocked as they watch gory images of these events on the television and internet. Is there a human solution to the problems? World bodies are searching.

Christians, however, are waiting for the rapture. Christ Himself gave signs of His return, as seen in our text above. The rapture is the first phase of Christ's Second Coming. While in the rapture only the saints will see and go to heaven with Christ, in the Second Coming, all eyes will see Him. While waiting for the rapture, saints should remain holy, prayerful, and evangelising. The unsaved should repent and accept Christ as their Saviour now.

Chɑllenge: "Signs of the end times are everywhere."

Prɑyer: "Make me ready for the judgment day, Oh Lord."

Quote: "Remain holy, prayerful and evangelising."

AWESOME AUTHORITY
TEXT: Isaiah 1:10-20

"See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and plant" (Jeremiah 1:10).

It was C. H. Spurgeon who said that, "Mental power may gather a large congregation, but only spiritual power will save souls. What we need is spiritual power." Jeremiah was divinely anointed and called by God from birth. When it was time to start the ministry, he received God's assurance. He depended on God's power and authority and he prospered.

God is calling multitudes from a life of sinfulness to salvation, consecration and purity. Once you are set apart (like Samson, Samuel, Jeremiah, John the Baptist, Jesus Christ and Paul), then pray for the Holy Ghost baptism for power to fulfil your mission. When you step out by faith in the authority of God's Word through the power of the Holy Spirit, you will succeed. God sent Jeremiah to the children of Israel and has sent all believers to the whole world today. Do God's work where you are until the Spirit sends you elsewhere. When he calls, no matter what excuses we may have, He will back you up to succeed. Use the authority God has given to you.

Chɑllenge: "Exercise your power and dominion over Satan's kingdom today."

Prɑyer: "My God, help me to use well the authority I have."

Quote: "Use the authority God has given to you."

GOD SEES ALL
TEXT: Proverbs 15:3

"The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good" (Proverbs 15:3).

"From a distance the world looks blue and green," is a song written by Julie Gold in 1987, she said that "God is watching us from a distance." However, looking at it from another angle, God is everywhere and sees us closely and not from afar (Jeremiah 23:24; 32:19). Have you anything concealed? God sees and knows it and will ask you to account for every secret action. Achan buried accursed stuff in his tent, but God revealed it to Joshua; actually, they were precious materials in Jericho that God did not want His people to have anything to do with. Achan and his family were stoned to death for it. (Joshua 7:1-26).

God sees any evil in your heart and will punish you, unless you repent. Wherever we are, day or night, we cannot escape the eyes of God. In the Greek language, God means, 'The One Who Sees.' Since God is holy and sees everything we do, we should live to please Him. Sinners must repent. God sees us completely and constantly. Ask what you want and God will do it.

Chɑllenge: "God's vision is so good that He see a things before it happens."

Prɑyer: "Lord, help me to be upright that I may enjoy your love and care."

Quote: "God sees us completely."

SENDING WRONG SIGNALS
TEXT: ROMANS 2:17-29

"For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written" (Romans 2:24).

Paul was concerned about the hypocrisy practised by the Jews then and how people blasphemed God's name as a result, thus, he quoted the scriptures to condemn their acts (Isaiah 53:5). Their hypocrisy dishonoured God and caused Gentiles to blaspheme God. "Why should we honour God," the Gentiles may have reasoned, "When His chosen people do not follow Him?"

God's name is equivalent to His character and who He is. The religious Jews did not only blaspheme the name of the Lord with their lips but also with their lives. Action, they say, speaks louder than voice. Our lives speak much louder than our lips. This is a potent reminder to believers that unbelievers are always watching and expect to see Christ in them! Does your life point people to the Lord or does it cause people to blaspheme His holy name? We are meant to show practical godly lifestyles and honour His name before the world. Our lives of humility, purity, simplicity, honesty and integrity will attract sinners to believe in God.

Chɑllenge: "What we practice proves what we profess."

Prɑyer: "Lord, let my life be a picture of you."

Quote: "Action speaks louder than voice."
