In my part of PH outskirts,we enjoyed up to 20Hrs/day for a number of weeks but from the first day of Brazil 2014 it turned worse.Presently, we have between 20 mins - 1Hr/day. I had thought that things had changed for good.I read that Afam Power Plant is undergoing maintenance.I don't know if it is the direct cause.

CharlesPhc: Got better for about two straight weeks in Port Harcourt but now its very very bad. No power for one straight week now in Woji axis Phc. The period it got better, the diesel vendor threatened we would soon come knocking again and true to their words, we are back knocking even harder this time...!!! What is most annoying is that Gov. Amaechi's commissioner for Power is busy arguing Argentina vs Germany final match in a popular joint in Phc.

I live in onitsha, anambra state and I wonder what EEDC has against world cup matches especially the ones that involved d nigerian super eagles. They light goes off at d commencement of almost all d matches and comes on at their conclusion. It is quite a pathetic situation cos d bills keep on increasing at d end of each month. I ve totally lost hope on the ability of d present govt to solve d problem of power.

Here in Onitsha, it's different stroke for different folks. This was what we realised: all buildings with personal transformers enjoys at least 18hrs power daily.
Here at work, we 'kukuma' paid 150k( to the owners oh, not PHCN. PHCN was paid for connection) to join a personal transformer.
Since then, pure merriment.
Piece of advice: if your area's light is been load shedded, it's because your transformer is over loaded. There are enough voltage in the power grid.
Team up with two or three buildings and buy a transformer.

@ Edozien, Uwani Enugu, Power supply has been very stable. Throughout last Month, there was power for at least 20 hours a day.
Re: Situation Report: Power Supply In Your Area by asksteve(m): 7:06am On Jul 11, 2014
So people have not observed that after about a month of Improved power supply ur electricity bill goes up by 200 - 300% ie for those on estimated consumption, funny thing the rate of per kilowatt was increased nationwide but in our case in Ojo LGA in Lagos it's our consumption and what did they tell us when we went to their office, they said supply has improved of which that was in may, June was not comparable to may but fair still, but this July so far is nothing to write home about and it will never reflect on the bill. It only goes up but doesn't come down. I just want to ask how can they expect a single family not using electricity for any other thing than regular domestic use, without air conditioning unit and other heavy appliance to pay 8,000 naira monthly as electricity bill?
No wonder it's Herculaneum for them to allocate prepaid meters cos all these rubbish will end.
Pls let them make the prepaid available so we can pay for what we consume.

Snoggy: It got better this week. 16-20hrs a day.

I hope it improves.

Kogi seems to be doing well in the area of electricity these days.
when I visied lokoja way back in 1995 there used to be light for two straight week + and the light goes off for only less than a day, and it comes back on and stays for another 2wks + uninterrupted. That was when all the transformers were inside NEPA's office abi power office, but I heard its all changed now.

My side here in ph (okporo rd) is terrible. We don't get light for 3 days and wen it comes it doesn't last for 3hours. D only time electricity becomes stable is wen phcn want to disconnect. Uniport........no light there since march
