its really choice i really don't like handling the split bass on the piano.. So instead of me using rootless chords for praise, i use powerchords (1 5 1, 1 1, 1 5)

So with these power chords you won't have a problem with the bassist?

In Addition to what Mr Drammadidy said which is right also try and study your instrument in relationship to the circle of fourths /fifths. It will widen your musical vocabulary and help to create almost anything anytime. Whenever you learn chords learn in relation to the Circle you will appreciate music more that way. Shalom

no..try listen to nigerian praise on a cd or something, u ll get to hear how they play their praise.. Very lively vamping styles.. People wil dance.. So when a bassist is around i use rootless chord.. Makes it sound like there are two keyboardists

u might be using the wrong adapter.. What keyboard is that?

its the normal chord u play in ur right hand, u then play it in ur left hand and play another chord in your right hand.. The name is rootless because instead of u playing C G C on ur left hand which is do, u play S D M, at this point you're not playing the root which is do.. That's a rootless chord

dats one of my problem nw... I dnt stil undastand dat circle of 4th nd 5th o.. Pls can u explain it 4 me o

The circle of fifths(circle of fourths) is a visual representation of the relationships among the 12 Tones of the Chromatic scale, plus there corresponding key signatures and major and minor keys respectively.
Can't upload images here so u need to download and study the Image of the circle of fifths when going clockwise, buy if u turn and view counterclockwise it is then called the circle of fourths coz dey come in perfect fourths e.g. C F Bb Eb and so on this is also where the quartal voicings are derived from used in Jazz.
2. Download and score "Lord you are holy by Helen Baylor in an advanced setting I will tell you as my Pianist me Song Arranger that the song is on C minor but if you have not studied your circle u might get confused the truth is dere are relationships between d keys on the circle e.g. dat song is on C minor but u play it in relation to Eb which is the relative Major. But the song is on C minor that's why we always say we have 12 major keys and 12 minor keys so when learning to play keyz u learn the 24 altogether.
3. Studying it will help u in Jazz. That is smooth transitions among different keys on the keyboard like you can keep playing around the keyboard among different keys without realising touching anything dissonant or unpleasant so to say depending on ur knowledge about the Circle. Take dis for example (play around dis simple exercise)
C E G - BDEG
B F#. -B D G
A C# E - C# E A
D F# A - F# A C
G B D. - G B D
Let's stop d magic there notice the smooth transition we have gone tru a lot of keys but didn't sound like we are doing anything that's coz we followed the circle and so on. For more lessons on the circle. Follow me on Instagram @Johnsonkeyz
You can also watch our youtube videos online check ma previous post. I'm sowie for the late reply just saw ur message today.
Shalom
