#15 The Magic of Numbers
Since there was a change in name and rules of the
championship in 1992, no club could win the Champions
League for two consecutive seasons. The last club which
managed to do it, was Milan, having won the European
Cup in 1989 and 1990.
#14 The Record of Manchester
The record for the longest series without a single defeat
in the Champions League belongs to English club
Manchester United. The club had played 25 games
without defeat: the series began September 19, 2007
and ended May 27, 2009
#13 Ancelotti Is Just the Second
The only coach who won the Champions League for three
times was an Englishman Bob Paisley as the head of
Liverpool in 1977, 1978 and 1981. Now Ancelotti has
repeated the record, winning the Champions League
twice with Milan and once with Madrid Real.

#12 The Meringues Are the Kings of Europe
Real Madrid has not only set a record of the total number
of wins, but it's also the only club to have won the
Champions League five times in a row. These were the
first five years of the League from 1956 to 1960.

#11 1 Goal for the Entire Group Stage
No club can boast not conceding a goal throughout the
group stage. But a number of teams finished the stage
with the only ball missed - Milan (1992/93), Ajax
(1995/96), Juventus (1996/97 and 2004/05), Chelsea
(2005/06 ), Liverpool (2005/06), Villarreal (2005/06) and
MJ (2010/11).
#10 There Are Places like Home
Only two teams in the history of the Champions League
won the championship at home. They were Dortmund
Borussia (in Munich in 1997) and Juventus (in Rome in
1996.) Meanwhile, in 2011 the Manchester United was
defeated in the final game in London, and a year later
the Bavaria was beaten by Chelsea at its own Arena
Munich.

#7 Scoring Fair
The victory 4-1 was the second largest one in the history
of the Champions League finals. The first was Milan
defeating Barcelona in 1994 with the score 4:0. 3-0 was
recorded twice - Real vs Valencia (2000) and Porto vs
Monaco (2004)
#6 Real Defeats the Red Devils
This final was the 200th game of Real in the Champions
League, which allowed the Spanish club to catch up with
Manchester United. Taking into account that the next
season the mancunians will not participate in the

#3 The Team Which Played in the Most Finals
If to take the whole history of the European Champions
Cup, the Italian clubs played in finals 26 times. They
celebrated the victory 12 times, and were defeated 14
times. The British teams can speak about 12 wins out of
19 attempts, the Spaniards - 13 out of 22, Germany - 7 of
17, Portugal - 4 of 9, and the Netherlands – 6 victories
out of 8 games
#2 Gareth Bale Scores a Record
There have been six final overtimes before, but during
none of them any goals were scored. Gareth Bale was
the first who scored a goal during the extra time of the
Champions League final.

In the past there have been four finals involving teams
from the same country. In 2000, Real defeated Valencia
at Paris' Stade de France with a score 3-0; in 2003 Milan
beat Juventus by penalties; in 2008 in Moscow MU
defeated Chelsea; and Bavaria won the game with
Dortmund Borussia - 2:1 in 2013. But for the first time in
the history of the Champions League, the teams who met
in the final, were from the same city.
