Re: Difference Between Center And Centre by Polaris1: 10:47pm On Jul 25, 2014
Both are correct.
Centre is the traditional spelling,
Center is more of a US spelling that is gaining popularity (More like the way color is getting to replace colour).

It has no difference in meaning , just difference in spellings. The word center is mostly used in the U.S.

The word centre (British) is widely used in European countries.

Use the Word CENTRE in All Formal Writing Here In Nigeria.

You're incorrect.

In the OP's context, it is simply An American & British difference, as already pointed out by some above.

Despite the fact that you are in Nigeria, you can use either, not necessarily the British English version but whichever one you choose you have to use consistently in your writing and can't keep switching between British and American English.
