The 21-year-old’s World Cup ended, after French
midfielder Blaise Matuidi stomped on him during
their second round game.
Onazi has since returned to light training and is
expected to participate in Lazio’s pre-season
preparations.
It did not stop Madrid sending a letter, written by
Emilio Butragueno on behalf of the La Liga team. It
read: “We have learned about your serious injury
during the game you played against France. On
behalf of our president Florentino Perez and those
who work for Real Madrid, we’d like to wish you a
smooth and speedy recovery.
“As a former professional footballer, I know you
are going through a difficult time but I’m utterly
convinced that eventually, you’ll be back to full
fitness to help your team achieve its goals next
season.”

Onazi, 21, suffered a fractured
ankle when he was stamped
on by France midfielder Blaise
Matuidi and would have taken
no further part in the
tournament even if Nigeria had advanced. In a show of solidarity, Madrid
have written to console the
player.

It could be in the future as they monitor your progress, it may never happen, but clubs always have a comprehensive list of players they monitor. That's the work of scouts that are heavily payed by clubs.

Djicemob: Now unless u r saying real madrid have scouts in every country,i'll find it hard to believe that they were actually monitoring Onazi.Not that am looking down on the boy or saying the story might be 100percent false but because...well with the crop of players at Real madrid(A,B and C team) what position will Onazi fit in, to even monitor him in the first place?.

Onazi plays for Lazio in Italy, not one anonymous club that can't be reached by madrid scouts.

Onazi is a good player; arguable the best we went to the worldcup with. We all saw how our midfield collapsed when he was injured against france.

Madrid may have a star-studded teams A, B, C, but you have to consider the position Onazi plays and see if he can fit into: he's doesn't play the same position with either of CR7, James, Suarez or Bale. He plays a holding midfield role and is an efficient 'box-to-box' player!

Don't forget that the likes of Lassana Diara (former Porthsmouth player) was signed by madrid in the same position and Khedira and Alonso are presently the only option for that role in Madrid.
