accomdatin is cheap in ilorin,one room for a year 20k to 25k self contain bet 60 to 55

there are lots of factors that determines power availability..let's just say it depends on location ..coz some wud be posted to either ilorin north or ilorin south or kwara e.t.c

if u wana save more then kwara wud be a nice place for PPA buh reverse is the case at ilorin coz dats more like a town..buh nevertheless it al depends on where specifically in kwara..just pray to be posted to a nice PPA wit lesser cost of living and conducive environs inhabited by cool people..

Omu-Aran sure is a very nice place for PPA no doubt efe..other places might seem lively thou buh yhu really cannot know not until u posted their!...

Hello friends feel pressed to help with some info on the service life in kwara. Please read through you surely will need this info.

Preamble:
I served in kwara 2012 batch A. Was platoon leader in my camp, posted to kwara state polytechnic for PPA got retained in the poly after service. One of the outstanding copas of that batch with an award to show for it. Mind you I'm from the south south

Overview of Kwara:
Kwara is a north central state with 16 LGA. The major towns being Ilorin, offa and oma orun. The farthest LGA are baruten and kaiama that are about 5 to 8 hours from the capital.
There are no industries thus expect to handle chalk except for doctors, lawyers and those that will be posted to ministries (especially agric graduates)

The state does not pay a dime, but certain private schools pay and provide accommodation expecially for outside Ilorin.

Route to yikpata from any in Nigeria.

From Ph: Get to romula or eziolu you find vehicles coming to Ilorin ( you must get therr before 6am) journey duration is 10 to 12 hours

From bayelsa, warri, Benin: Just get to the major park in the outskirt of the town you see Ilorin buses, for bayelsa you get at Mbiama junction for warriors you get at Effurum.

From The East: To get to Ilorin from the east get to onisha by the bridge you will see sienna buses heading to Ilorin. They are always there 24/7. But don't journey at night oh.

From Lagos: Lagos to Ilorin is 4hours. you can get buses from berger, iyana kpaja, surele etc.

From Abuja: Nyanya would be the best bet.

From anywhere you are coming from have it in mind that you are going to yikpata in Edu LGA which is about 2hours From Ilorin.

Most vehicles from the south south and south east will stop at challenge (UBA). if you are in group kindly plead with the driver to drop you at Maraba which is just a stone throw.

From maraba board a slow but steady bus heading to yikpata camp. Note: Don't embark on the journey to yikpata from Ilorin if you arrive by 7pm and above spend the night in the fellowship lodges of the corps members you meet around the bus stop don't be scare they are there to help.

Life in Camp:
Depending on what you want out of the service year....get your face notice for good in the camp: join such groups like OBS, band, sports and your platoon activities. If you arrive on time and you have leadership abilities vie for platoon leader if you get chosen put in your best and I can bet you yull be posted to the juicest spots in ilorin.

For our ladies done go sleeping with all the sodiers and camp officials in the quest of securing a good posting.....all na wash not all of them can influence your posting expecially the soldiers.

Brware; Yikpata infested with all sort of reptiles please dont venture into the bushes for whatsoever reason.

Finally, have fun and dont disgrace your family name in the course of your fun.

No be camp be the issue. Just pray u are posted to d town or a good village . Cos there are some scary villages u won't even want to be. You go spend money on transport like mad. Thats when u don't get a free ride. The soldiers are friendly though from what i experienced. But the camp is open. So don't expect a fenced environment.... Its a jungle

Posted to kwara,my secondary sch was in ilorin,i was born in ilorin,i pray i am posted to ilorin,i know my way around there,i will be leaving lagos on tuesday. Ilorin is peaceful and relatively cheap and nice places to hang out for the fun loving corpers,few areas that have good electricity and cool to stay are,adewole,tanke,GRA,airport,taiwo and saw mill have good electricity but the environment is kind of rough to me though.... I will be here to render any help i can for peepz on here
