CHAPTER ONE:



"South core ,south core ,enter with your change oh!,
Walai i no go pity anybody oh, if you no get change ,no enter my bus."
The bus driver Shouted at the top of his voice.
We had just been through with lectures after a very long sunny day and it was evening already. I had to make sure that i entered the bus, because if i missed it, i was definitely going to trekk down to south core which was a suicide mission.
i quickly struggled to sit at the front seat and got myself comfortable.

"chairman,where your money dey?"
The driver asked me and i stretched out my hand to give him N100.
Being a typical Tiv man, the driver out of frustration, shouted

"wah type o tiz , i think sey i dey shout am here sey make una carry change."

"chairman, abeg no vex na only 'hundy' dey my hand, as we fondly called N100.
And i don dey lecture since morning, abeg pity me oga "

Well , i guess i wasnt supposed to beg him cuz it only infuriated him more .
The driver then asked me to alight from his bus.
As i was contemplating ,he turned and started clamouring for another passenger.
when all hope then seemed lost , i decided to alight from the bus and leg it home, until i heard a lovely voice say ;

"Driver its ok,there is change here "
before i knew what was happening , a very beautiful girl handed the driver N30 and smiled at me.
I didnt know whether to feel embarrassed or lucky , but i returned the smile and entered back into the bus.
I was supposed to drop at maafs hostel which was a private hostel where i stay, but i decided to drop at the convocation square which was the final bus stop.
After the bus parked and everybody alighted, i quickly went up to her and thanked her for her kind gesture.
"Thanks alot ,you saved me back there "
As i said this she just giggled and said it was nothing.
"anyways ,thanks once again , whats your name pls?"

"my name is jane, and i'm glad that i was of help back there . No need to tell me your name cuz i know you already".

In my mind i was feeling like a star as she said this .
"wow, i never knew i was popular like this o,well i'm in 100 level agric economics and i receive all my lectures at aper aku hall"

"same here, but i only receive Gst's there ,i'm a biochem student, i stay in the school hostel "

"wow nice to meet you once again, hope to see you another time soonest"
With that i bade her goodbye and started legging it to my House.

brief introduction ,
my names are Ade Layo and i'm a yoruba boy , God knows how i found myself in the midst of this mixed population of Tiv, Idoma, and Igede people who are the minority here .
People in this town , most especially Tiv people are always fond of calling me all sorts of names as "Rayo, Lion, and all sorts of funny names.

My school is called the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
i wonder why it isn't so popular in the west where i come from.
UAM ,as it is called is a very very serious school with no form of social activities at all
as everybody is always trying to 'jack' to maintain his/her gp.

We are in sharp contrast with the other state uni in Makurdi called BSU.
They ball hard in that school.
River benue acted as a border between UAM and BSU.

It was once rumoured that all the mermaids in river benue all decided to go to BSU, cuz Uam was way to serious for them to perpetrate their acts.
That explained why there was hardly any beautiful girl in my school and there were more than enough in BSU. if u dont believe me, ask adegwurulez

As i got home to my house in school , i was so shocked at what i saw !!!!
