I can only commend this young man for this singular demonstration of doggedness and resolve. In life one must stand for something or one will fall for anything. If only we had more of such people, our country would be the better for it. Alas, what we have are lily-livered yes-sayers. May God help us to realise that the road to freedom was not constructed by the acquiescence of assenting collaborators but by the inconvenient, often obstinate, crticisms of those who always wanted something better. |

Saburi is a very close friend of mine,I stayed with him for a sesseion at room 268 block 8.He is a lovely guy to be with,he so much believe in fighting for thE rights of others.Although he had ond at ilaro and hnd at ibadan poly.I love you brother. AY BRUNO |

Thank God for Akinola Saburi( I think he used be answer to Malcolm X, nicknamed himself after the renown Civil Right Activist). I was n part one when he was the General Secretary and by then he was in Part there, towards the end of my part 3, he had not done farm year meaning he was still in part 3. He ought to try to face his academics but he went on to contest for Student Union President and through.... means became the president (then OAU undergraduates can still remember). The rest is history. I do hope he is a changed man and that he still has the chance to make something meaningful out of his life |
