Kelechi Iheanacho, the Nigerian U-20 team foward whose recent progress in Manchester City’s pre-season tour attracted remarkable comments from football lovers in Nigeria, and overseas was recently featured in Bleacher Report’s “50 Most Exciting Teenagers in World Football.”

The 17-year-old City’s Striker made the no 9 spot on the list, along with the likes of Luke Shaw(Manchester United), Serge Gnabry(Arsenal), and Will Hughes (Derby County).


Describing his efficacy BleacherReports added, “Iheanacho doesn’t yet have a work permit to play in England and so could be sent out on a loan this year whoever gets him will be getting a special comment.”

Kelechi drew international attention after winning the Golden ball for the U-17 World Cup last year, he also proved himself worthy by finding the net against Ac Milan and Liverpool in the just concluded Pre-seasoned tour.

Coach Garba who was with Kelechi in the U-17 team, and now U-20 team believes that he is one of the most talented players in the world.

Seventeen-year-old attacker Kelechi Iheanacho was seen on Manchester City's tour of the United States this summer, scoring a goal against AC Milan and finding the net in a penalty shootout defeat to Liverpool.

Would have given SE some options at the world cup, hope he get his work permit.

The problem is lack of good management......we have far better players in Africa at a younger stage than all of Europe.........If player like Lampard, Gerard can be rate as world class midfielder without no particular skills (so to say).....You begin to wonder where the likes of J.J, Oruma and co could have been with good management.

They always raise our hopes at youth level. When money starts coming in, they forget all the skills they learnt at Agege Stadium and Onikan Stadium and start passing the ball backwards.

He is under pellegrini's care and watch and not that dream killing coach Mourinho....no African player thrives under that guy.
