A man should not bother taking a paternity leave because he needs to be out there making more money for the family. A happy family is one which can meet its expenses. Damn what ami even saying?

The truth here is that u, as the man, are supposed to make a choice on which kind of lifestyle u're going to live; whether as a family man or as a complete business/career man. Be there for ur child/children when he/she/they need u the most OR pursue ur most desired ambition & miss the most valued moments (that u can never get) of ur loved ones . Period!

And Oh one more thing; if u must live as a family man, BEFORE u marry, u must endeavour to make sure that there are neccessary provisions (especially fianancially) that will meet up the expectations of ur family when the time comes. For example, choose a job or a career that will afford u enough time (even energy) to be with ur kids.

Some men actually do not touch their wife(s) for months even during sabbatical leave or annual work break. So introducing a paternity leave definitely will give more room for intimacy between the couple.

Kanwulia: No AFRICAN man should get paternity leave!
Except he was PHYSICALLY present in the delivery room and did the OMUGUO himself! kiss
You don't reward idleness with more IDLENESS! kiss

He wakes up early everyday to go to work to give U a comfortable life.

He beat the traffic with all the driving tactics his brain could possibly gather just to ensure He sees Ur happy face before U go to bed everyday. Putting on a calm & happy look for U despite being exhausted inside.

He occasionally buys clothes for the wife & kids just to put a smile on Ur face, without caring for himself.

He pays that ultra expensive school fee (three times in a year) for U & Ur sibling without giving U the faintest idea of what He goes through to produce that money, and will still produce money for christmas & easter cloth and chicken For the kids and His wife (without buying clothes for himself) just to make his family happy.

He is the strong voice that will respond to any strange knock at the gate, just to make U feel safe.

Yet U feel He does not deserve a break simply because no be him enta labour room.

Tell me- who bought all the pampers, napkin, baby oil, bathing stuff, baby food, feeding bottle, baby clothes & all other thing that the mother will use to cater for the baby?
Who payed for the ante & post natal that the mother went through to bring the baby to life?
Even the labour room U are talking of, Who paid for it?
And as a matter of fact, Who put the baby there in the first place?

Na wa for african ladies ooooo.

The wife should decide if the man is useful at home based on his previous records of home and child care tongue

Otherwise no need to keep an lazy man at home and create more work for the woman sef angry

Do husbands endorse maternity leave? Despite the liability nature of some wives.

esof1: @ op, why do u think maternity leave is given? If u know why it is given, then u wouldn't talk abt paternity leave.

Anyway, maybe paternity leave would be given when men begin to breastfeed.

I understand that maternity leave is given to expectant mothers & after childbirth. Yet I also feel men also need a break aside from usual work leave. It might not be due to child expectancy or delivery as is the case with women.

So it was Ur Mum that paid "ALL" these bills. If it was Ur dad, then permit me to ask: Are U on Heroine? Or what exactly is annoying U?
Don't U know that despite the money some women make, Their Husband still insist on footing the bills?
Did Mercy Johnson tell U she pay the bills?

1) Some women tend to activate an ultra "gluttonic" lifestyle after birth with the excuse usually being that the child is draining her breast.
2) Some women have disastrous hormone issues that make them break all the glass connected things and breakable plates in the house. Some husbands en up spending a lot to replace such items.
3) Unfortunately, some women have health issues that stops them from having a normal childbirth. Some of these women will need "1gallon" of blood to survive the birth while others might need a specialist to perform an operation on her to remove the child.

There are lots of reasons why some women fall under this liability group.

By your definition, this is what makes a human being (male or female) a liability Before you quote me again, check the dictionary meaning of the word "liability".

I reiterate, if a man cannot help his wife with house chores during her maternity leave, there is no need to grant such a lazy man "paternity leave"!
