Ordinary....this ought to be a good news. On a second thought, it seems the media is deliberately trying to play down the role of the Nigerian military in this fight. The Camerounians are being over blown. We hardly hear about the successes of our military because they don't want us to.

I sense media insincerity.

Good for them. I am sure if NA had bombed BH camp what you will hear in the news that NA has killed unarmed civilian. I think we Nigerians/medias are part of the roadblock to a successful execution of this mission.

Re: Cameroon Bombs Boko Haram Camp Killing “many” Fighters by YoursGEJ(m): 2:49pm On Aug 29, 2014
The govt of GEJ clearly lack the political will to fight boko Haram. Going by the actions of Cameroon against the sect, our president is an incompetent and imbecilic maladministrator who should just resign and let someone else take over. Innocent citizens are being killed by the hundreds weekly and this has been going on for over 4 years. All we have heard are serial excuses and some white lie about a "tactical maneuver". How long will it continue? If you are a GEJ supporter and you quote this post without a serious argument, I will rip you to shreds

I laugh....

Nigeria will crush them in two weeks.
I know u won't understand.

Read how Nigeria almost captured Yaounde during Bakassi crisis. We fought both France and Cameroun. During Abachas regime.

Don't underestimate the military. Even Cameroun won't dare.

why are some pple bent on f**ling demselves.dat chad helped mali in dier war does it make dem "GIANT OF AFRICA".wat i tink is dat bokos are trying to take more lands so wen d military offensive takes effect(if not already ongoin) dey will b more co ordinated.nd over stretch d military.
a giant is not one dat wins a brief war but is one dat bounces back after defeat to win once nd for all.dis is our militaries lowest level but bravry comes wen all seems to fail but one decision turned the tide.i salut.

Cameroon does not have the reservation about civilian casualties like the Nigeria Army. After all, Cameroon are only shelling "the other side" while the Nigeria Army knows this "other side" is the Nigerian side and the civilians there are Nigerians.

It really is not easy to fight this sort of insurgency considering the collateral damage involve. The moment the Nigeria Army goes the Cameroon route, videos of "brutality and inhuman treatment" start popping up on foreign media.

okunboy: We were told that dis war is not a conventional one...
We were told bokoharam mixed among the pple.....
We were told that our border is too large and porous
We were told that bokoharam run to the neighbouring countries after they attack us to take cover........and international rule of engagement forbids blah blah blah......
We were told so many excuses......

Today, this war is now conventional: bokoharam seize towns and erect flags.....they stand face2face with nigerian army. But yet our soldiers can not meet up with the enemy fire power...except for some 'tactical maneuver' into the neighbouring country (Covet Nigerian Military way of saying 'we pick race').

Today, our neighbours are even showing more power and tactics in engaging the enemies..killing them and rescuing their captives. ..U think the problem is hat of the government?Boko haram has sympathisiers who are frrom the hausa fulani origin in the military and in politics. They are the people undermining this fight. They think power comes to them in 2015,they will quell the insurgence but they have made a big mistake.Boko haram cant be tamed

Execuses upon excuses..........from this incompetent govt.

Point of correction:
It is the Northerners.
They cry blue murder when Soldiers are deployed to tackle insurgency; when Nigerian govt seek foreign assistance against BH terrorism, they call it war against the north; when the army decides to use force to #bringbackourgirls, they say they should tread gently with them.
These are the same northerners who are screaming to high heavens that Jonathan govt is not dealing with Boko Haram insurgency head-on.

Some which have their brothers in the sect. That's the reason it seems this people cannot be conquered.
Yes, I concord with you. In fact, that is why Sheik GoodLUCK Jonathan, the commander-in-chief of the Nigerian armed forces, who lead those muslims in every sunday prayer refused to supply our military with latest weapons that would have match the terrorists. What a myopic thinking!!!

I am perplexed beyond reason, Cameroon total armed forces amount to 35,000 and it's army is 20,000 have a very limited air force so how is it that they have got Boko on the run and are even going on the offensive against them in Nigeria. And we our soldiers had to run to them for protection or as the NA said a tactical manoeuvre.

We have in excess of twenty thousand combatants soldiers in the NE theatre more than Cameroon entire army that has been largely ineffective against Boko.

Pride comes before a fall maybe we should invite Chad and Cameroon even Ghana to help us with this insurgency that has now seized territory and declared a caliphate. Meanwhile GEJ is opening stadiums and electricity gas plants in Akwa-Ibom. Quite clearly he has got his priorities right.
