with Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU)
Sequel to the meeting held between the SGF and JOHESU on the 25th of August, 2014 which also marked the inauguration of the sub committee on the adjustment of CONHESS salary for JOHESU members, we wish to bring to fore decisions taken for the purpose of your attention and necessary actions:

1) MODIFICATION OF CIRCULAR ON CONSULTANCY STATUS FOR OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALSThe committee noted that the internal circula of FMOH Ref. No. NH/PM/138/VOL.111/85 Dated 18th july, 2014 paragraph one subsection four (1(IV)) CONTRADICTS paragraph one subsection one of the national industrial court of Nigeria ruling dated 2nd july 2013 and therefore should be expunged. It was therefore resoved that the earlier ciruclar Ref No NH/PM/138/VOL 111/I79 of 16th May 2014 should be upheld and the new circular should be issued and released this week. (before 29th of august 2014)

2) RELEASE OF CIRCULAR FOR EXTENSION OF RETIREMENT AGE FROM 60 TO 65 YEARS
Whereas, it was earlier agreed that the issue on extension of retirement age be concluded by the end of www.medicalworldnigeria.comaugust, 2014, the meeting further resolved that the circular on this subject should be issued not later than 29th august 2014

3) PAYMENT OF SALARY ARREARS (CONHESS 10 SKIPPING)
It was noted that members of NMA Who had been on strike since 1st july, 2014 suspended her strike and assumed duty on the 25th of august 2014 and government had approved andthey have received two months arrears of their adjusted CONMESS SALARY which circular government released on 4thof january,2014; whereas members of JOHESU whose salary arrears of CONHESS 10 SKIPPING which dated back to 2010/2011 are yet to be paid. It was therefore resolved that he accumulated arrears on CONHESS 10 Skipping should be paid to JOHESU members immediately.

4) RELEASE OF CORRECTED CIRCULAR FOR LAB SCIENTISTS INTERNS

It was also observed that the circular on the above subject matter that was brought to the 12th august 2014 meeting did not include the clause "AFTER NYSC, officers should be placed on CONHESS 09 step 2 in line with their counterparts inphysiotherapy, radiography and pharmacy.JOHESU therefore appeal that the corrected circular should beissued not later than 29th of august 2014

5) INAUGURATION OF SUB COMMITTEE ON ADJUSTMENT OF SALARY FOR JOHESU MEMBERS
The SGF inaugurated a sub committee on the 25th of august 2014 on the above subject matter whose terms of referene is to validate the financial implications already worked out by the national incomes, salaries and wages commission (NISWC) and facilitate its integration into the 2015 budget for consideration by the presidential committeewww.medicalworldnigeria.com.It was also observed that this committee was earlier setup about 3 months ago but could not meet because it was not inaugurated until the 25th of august 2014. JOHESU Views the one month time line rather too long to complete the job. We appeal that this assignment should be concluded before the time line and relevant circular released to avoid undue agitation by members of JOHESU.

NMA can't threaten to go on strike this time!

This govt won't listening to you guys unless you embark on a strike. Lets see how it will unfold. Today is already 30th of August.
