What are all these aged Igbo men doing in a foreign country, instead of staying put and helping build their home, they are over there enjoying what the founders of America worked for. In the end, the topic of the discussion will be "How Nigeria is not moving forward". How can Nigeria move forward, when all of us are moving outwards ?

I'm on my way there right now! I can't believe i'm missing this much of the discussion but I like a lot of the topics at hand.
I don't doubt the Igbo ability to plan, I'm only interested in IMPLEMENTATION.

True talk. And the amazing thing about Nigerians leaving the shores of their country to another man's country is that even if you spend your entire life there once you kick the bucket they will package your remains and bring it back to Nigeria Shekina.

What I see are a few aged men, mostly red caps and less than 50 people. Is this Anambra meeting abi Igbo Congress let alone "WORLD IGBO CONGRESS"? Besides where in Houston is it taking place at?

Why should Igbo Congress hold in Houston not Nigeria? Have they ever see British or Europeans coming to Africa for conference?

ukeleh: Why should Igbo Congress hold in Houston not Nigeria? Have they ever see British or Europeans coming to Africa for conference?

The Casablanca Conference (codenamed SYMBOL) was held at the Anfa Hotel in Casablanca, French Morocco from January 14 to 24, 1943, to plan the Allied European strategy for the next phase of World War II. In attendance were United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and representing the Free French forces, Generals Charles de Gaulle, and Henri Giraud. Premier Joseph Stalin had declined to attend, citing the ongoing conflict in Stalingrad required his presence in the Soviet Union.

You use an event of 19th century as justification for Nigeria's waste of resources in foreign countries? How often do they come to Africa for such event? I hope you know that if abroad is not mentioned in an event in Nigeria, that event is not complete.

Its a shame, because over the years, these aged Igbo men can not still be integrated to the pure American fold and dream. There is no pride in exile, whether self imposed or conditioned. Exile is Exile. The title of the thread should be "Igbo men in exile discussing the problems of Nigeria in absenteeism". Igbo Kwenu.
