please, let's not misinterpret things. KJV says in
1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, CALLED TO BE SAINTS, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
The word, "to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints" doesn't mean that every believer is a saint. A better interpretation is that all saints are believers but surely all believers are not saints.
Who is a believer? I don't mean by lip service but a true believer and what prevents a believer who is sanctified from being a saint?

I know you have a problem understanding English language.

catholic says Mary intercede for them and u are missing it up with mediator. yes Christ is the only mediator between God and man. but Mary intercede,i.e plead on our behalf.

dictionary meaning of mediator and intercede

To intercede is to go or come between two
parties, to plead before one of them on behalf
of the other. "Mediation"
means a standing in the midst between two
(contending) parties, for the purpose of
bringing them together.

Yea. Just lik at d wedding in Canaan.

Yes Mary is a favoured Woman. But She was a human being like me and you. She later had other children but this time she was impregnated by joseph. Matthew 13:55
• "Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and
his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?"
Matthew 27:56
• "Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James
and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee's children."
Mark 3:31
• "There came then His Brethren and His Mother, and standing
without, sent unto Him calling Him."
Mark 6:3
• "Is not this the carpenter, the Son of Mary, the Brother of James,
and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with
us? And they were offended at him."
Matthew 1:24-25
• "Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord
had bidden him, and took unto him HIS WIFE:
• And knew her not Until she had brought forth her firstborn Son:
and he called His name, Jesus!"
He 'Knew her' not (didn't have physical intimate union with her) until
she had brought forth her Firstborn, Jesus. From this statement, it is
clear that He knew her (in the biblical sense) AFTER the birth of
Jesus. As a practical example, if someone were to say that they took
a wife, but didn't consummate the marriage until after January, and
in reply I stated that this means they never consummated the
marriage, you would think that ridiculous. And you'd be right. But
this is exactly what Roman catholics do in regards to the above verses
of scripture. I REST MY CASE.

Get the definitions right Salc. A believer is anyone that is sanctified in Christ Jesus while a Saint someone that lived a life of exceptional Holiness.
So, common knowledge should tell u that not all believers are saints. the next question is:
How do u know if someone lived a life of exceptional Holiness?
That IMO is only left for God to judge. The Catholic Church however examine the life of some Christians who lived exceptional lives or did extraordinary things through the power of the Lord and canonize them as Saints. Some of these saints have some or most part of their body incorrupt after several months or years of there death Which is a clear sign that there's something extraordinary about it.
so dear, that u are sanctified in Christ Jesus doesn't automatically make u a saint.

Why do
Catholics Honor
& Love Mary ?

A1. She brought the Savior into the
World.
Mary said Yes! In Luke 1:26-35 The Angel
Gabriel appeared to the young Mary and
said that she would conceive a child and
he will be called “The Son of the Most
High.” Now Mary has free will, like all of
us, she could have said no. She could
have said find someone else, but what did
she say? In Luke 1:38 Mary answered
“Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord;
let it be to me according to your word.”
By her consent, by her free will Mary
united her will to the will of the Father
and brought the salvation of the human
race into the world in the person of Jesus
Christ. Think about it, without Jesus
Christ there would be no salvation for
mankind. Mary carried the God-Man, the
creator of time and space himself in her
womb. She agreed to provide him with
flesh and blood, carried him for 9 months
and nurtured him throughout his life.

A2. “Hail, full of Grace, the Lord is
with you!”

When the Angel Gabriel came to Mary
she was greeted with a royal greeting.
Luke 1:28 recounts Gabriel greeting Mary
by proclaiming “Hail, full of Grace, the
Lord is with you!” The Greek word for
Hail that is used here is a word that is
used to address royalty. Think of it, an
Angel, a being far superior to a human,
greeting a young girl with such respect
and awe; in other cases when an angel
approaches a human this is not the case.
This would imply that Mary is no normal
human being; God created her and
prepared her to carry his son, to be a
living tabernacle of the Lord.
“Full of Grace”, this is said by Gabriel to
Mary in Luke 1:38 before she even said
yes to be the Mother of God. This would
imply that she was full of Grace (God’s
own life and love) even before she had
Jesus in her womb. Like the pure and
untouchable Ark of the Covenant in the
Old Testament that held symbols of God,
Mary was made pure and full of grace in
order to hold the Word of God made
flesh, Jesus Christ
Mary was even given the grace she
needed for the encounter with the Angel
Gabriel. In Revelation 19 and 22 when an
Angel appears to John, he is confused and
mistakes him for God and begins to
worship him. When Gabriel appears to
Mary in Luke 1 something very different
happens. Mary has the grace to recognize
that this Angel isn’t God and Gabriel
acknowledges that Mary isn’t just some
ordinary girl but a girl that has been
prepared by God from her conception to
be the Mother of the God-Man, Jesus
Christ.

A3. “Blessed among women”

After the Angel Gabriel left Mary she
went to see her cousin Elizabeth who in
her old age was pregnant with John the
Baptist. In Luke 1:41 after Mary greeted
Elizabeth, Elizabeth was filled with the
Holy Spirit and John the Baptist leaped in
her womb in joy at the sound of Mary’s
voice. The Holy Spirit talking through
Elizabeth said to Mary “Blessed are you
among women, and blessed is the fruit of
your womb!” Wow, the third person of
the blessed Trinity inspired Elizabeth to
deem Mary blessed amongst all women;
Mary isn’t just some ordinary woman.
These words of the Holy Spirit talking
through Elizabeth make up the middle of
the Hail Mary “blessed are you amongst
women and blessed is the fruit of they
womb, Jesus”

A4. She is the Mother of the Lord

Jesus wasn’t created, as the Nicene Creed
proclaims “He was begotten, not made,
one in being with the Father, through
him all things were made.” So how is
Mary, a creation of God, the mother of
God? This answer is intertwined with the
mystery of the Trinity and the
Incarnation. The Father, Son and Holy
Spirit are of the same substance but are
unique. The 2nd person of the trinity,
Jesus Christ, entered time and space and
took on Mary’s flesh in the incarnation;
when this happened Mary became the
mother of Jesus. Since Mary is the mother
of Jesus that makes her the mother of
God. Mary is not the mother of the
trinity, she did not exist before the
trinity; she is the mother of the 2nd
person of the trinity in the flesh, Jesus
Christ.
Many protestant Christians today say that
Mary was not the mother of God but just
the mother of Jesus. If Mary is not the
mother of God but just the mother of
Jesus then this assumes that Jesus is not
God. This ideology reapeats a 1600 year
old heresy that was disputed and resolved
at the Council of Ephesus in 431AD. The
heretic Nestorius claimed that Jesus Christ
wasn’t divine and that Mary should be
called the Christotokos (Christ bearer)
instead of the Theotokos (God-bearer)
since Jesus isn’t God. The Church at this
council reaffirmed that Jesus is divine
and since he is divine that makes Mary
the Mother of God so rightfully so she
was to be called the Theotokos, God-
bearer.

A5. My soul magnifies the Lord, my
spirit rejoices in God my Savior”

After Elizabeth declares that Mary is
blessed amongst women, Mary sings what
is known as the Canticle of Mary (Luke
1:46-55). In verse 46 Mary sings that her
soul magnifies the Lord. Think about
that. The beauty and purity of Mary’s
soul magnifies or intensifies the presence
of the Lord. It has been said that Jesus is
like the sun; the source of light and Mary
is like the moon, reflecting that light of
God. Mary is not just a vessel that held
Christ, Mary’s body and soul was created
particularly by God to be a living
tabernacle of the Word of God, Jesus
Christ. To say that Mary was just a mere
vessel is undermining that majesty of God
by undermining the greatness of his
creation.
Mary then says in verse 47 that her
“spirit rejoices in God my savior” Mary is
rejoicing in God because he has created
her and destined her to the Mother of his
Son. God has granted Mary particular
graces that no other human has….the
graces needed to be the Mother of God.
The Catholic’s honor and love for Mary
reflects the deep love of God who made
her who she is.

A6. The Blessed Mother

In Luke 1:48 Mary proclaims that “All
generations will call me blessed..” God
created Mary as such a pure, graced filled
creation that from then on until all
eternity she will be called blessed. This is
where Catholics get the title of “The
Blessed Mother”; it’s straight out of the
Bible.

A7. She is the Mother of Humanity

Mary was chosen to be the mother of
Jesus but she is also our Mother. In John
19:26-27 when Jesus is on the Cross he
looks at his mother and says “Woman,
behold your son!” and then he looks at
John and says “Behold, your mother!”
Since early in the history of the Church
this has been interpreted as Jesus
extending Mary’s motherhood to all of
humanity. This can be better understood
in relation to the Father and the Son.
God the Father has one son, Jesus Christ,
but by extension of our baptism Jesus’
son ship is extended to all Christians so
we truly become sons and daughters of
God. In a similar yet different situation
by Jesus’ words on the cross Mary’s
Motherhood is extended to all of us.
Although Mary is human and the Father
is divine we have a mother in heaven
who loves and prays for us.

A8. She suffered with Christ

Mary suffered with Jesus as only a
mother could when seeing her child being
mocked, humiliated, beaten and put to
death in the most demeaning form of the
day. Mary’s suffering was foreshadowed
by Simeon when he said to her after she
presented the baby Jesus in the temple
“Behold, this child is destined for the fall
and rise of many in Israel, and to be a
sign that will be contradicted (and you
yourself a sword will pierce) so that the
thoughts of many hearts may be
revealed.” (Luke 1:34-35).
Mary is considered a co-redeemer with
Christ due to the most personal role she
played in salvation history by saying yes
to taking on the role of the Mother of
God and accepting all the joy and
suffering which came with that. In fact
every baptized Christian is called to offer
up their suffering with that of Christ for
the salvation of souls. Paul supports this
in Colossians 1:24 where he writes “Now
I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake,
and in my flesh I am filling up what is
lacking in the afflictions of Christ on
behalf of his body, which is the church.”
Since we are members of the Body of
Christ we share in the life and mission of
Christ. Mary has a particularly important
share in this due to her unique and
intimate role as the Mother of God.

Sorry but your definition of a believer here is actually the definition of a saint, To be sanctified in Christ is to be made Holy, observe the words "Saint and Sanctify" and you don't even need a dictionary to know they are synonymous, you can look up. Heb 12:23 and see that people are made "perfect" (sanctified) by Christ, and mind you there are far more saints than those canonised and that's why we have the "All saints day"

So I don't get it when you said a santified person isn't a saint.

What I will accept here is if you say "those canonised are those whose exceptional live of holiness were ascertained or verified by the church".

What pastors do is called interceding it is a place where God has called us all into. Praying for others like u pray for ur spouse or parent. But these people are alive, and once ur pastor is dead and gone, I'm soRry u can't ask him to pray for u anymore. U are on ur own. And if Mary did not accept to birth christ another person would have that is why it is said that she was favoured and Graced which mean she didn't merit it. But more importantly, twas becos she was to marry Joseph if she wasn't to marry Joseph the birth of Christ might be from Someone else whom Joseph was to marry or probably anoda generation of David.

well, let's not argue that but whichever way u look at it, your earlier statement that prompted me to respond is wrong. just wana correct that notion. You said that:
"1 Cor 1:1-2 implies that all believers are saints"
but that's not actually what the verse said as
1 Corinthians 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
the Bible didn't use the word believers, u invented that one yourself thereby u are of the opinion that those sanctified in Christ Jesus are believers "according to the verse" (of which I equally agree). But the same verse does not state or imply that they are saints.
Ofcourse, There are many other saints that are not canonized or celebrated by the church but that's only because of absent of proof. The Church can only canonized the ones they've verified that's why I said only God knows that lived a life of extraordinary Holiness.
My singular response still remains that all believers are not saints

Question: "What did Jesus mean when He said 'I am the way and the truth and the life' (John 14:6)?"

Answer: “I am the way and the truth and the life” is one of the seven “I Am” statements of Jesus. On the last night before His betrayal and death, Jesus was preparing His disciples for the days ahead. For over three years, these men had been following Jesus and learning from His teaching and example. They had placed their hopes in Him as the Messiah, the promised deliverer, yet they still didn't understand how He was going to accomplish that deliverance. After the Last Supper, Jesus began speaking about His departure, which led to questions from His disciples.

In John 13:33, Jesus said, “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.” This prompted Peter to ask where He was going (v. 36). Peter and the others did not understand that Jesus was speaking of His death and ascension to Heaven. Jesus' response was “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.” Peter was still misunderstanding and declared that he would follow Jesus anywhere and even lay His life down if necessary. As Jesus patiently continued to teach His disciples, He began speaking more plainly about heaven, describing the place He was going to prepare for them (John 14:2-3). Then Jesus said “You know the way to the place where I am going” (v. 4). Speaking for the others, Thomas said they did not know where He was going, so how could they know how to follow Him there? It was to this question that Jesus uttered one of the seven famous “I am” statements.

I am – In the Greek language, “I am” is a very intense way of referring to oneself. It would be comparable to saying, “I myself, and only I, am.” Several other times in the Gospels we find Jesus using these words. In Matthew 22:32 Jesus quotes Exodus 3:6, where God uses the same intensive form to say “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” In John 8:58, Jesus said “Truly, truly I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am.” The Jews clearly understood Jesus to be calling Himself God because they took up stones to stone Him for committing blasphemy in equating Himself with God. In Matthew 28:20, as Jesus gave the Great Commission, He gave it emphasis by saying “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” When the soldiers came seeking Jesus in the garden the night before His crucifixion, He told them “I am he” and His words were so powerful that the soldiers fell to the ground (John 18:4-6). These words reflect the very name of God in Hebrew, Yahweh, which means “to be” or “the self-existing one.” It is the name of power and authority, and Jesus claimed it as His own.

The way – Jesus used the definite article to distinguish Himself as “the only way.” A way is a path or route, and the disciples had expressed their confusion about where He was going, and how they could follow. As He had told them from the beginning, Jesus was again telling them (and us) “follow me.” There is no other path to Heaven, no other way to the Father. Peter reiterated this same truth years later to the rulers in Jerusalem, saying about Jesus, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). The exclusive nature of the only path to salvation is expressed in the words “I am the way.”

The truth – Again Jesus used the definite article to emphasize Himself as “the only truth.” Psalm 119:142 says “Your law is the truth.” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus reminded His listeners of several points of the Law, then said “but I say unto you...” (Matthew 5:22, 28, 32, 34, 39, 44), thereby equating Himself with the Law of God as the authoritative standard of righteousness. In fact, Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law and the prophets (Matthew 5:17). Jesus, as the incarnate Word of God (John 1:1) is the source of all truth.

The life – Jesus had just been telling His disciples about His impending death, and now He was claiming to be the source of all life. In John 10:17-18, Jesus declared that He was going to lay down His life for His sheep, and then take it back again. He spoke of His authority over life and death as being granted to Him by the Father. In John 14:19, He gave the promise that “because I live, you also will live.” The deliverance He was about to provide was not a political or social deliverance (which most of the Jews were seeking), but a true deliverance from a life of bondage to sin and death to a life of freedom in eternity.

In these words, Jesus was declaring Himself the great “I Am,” the only path to righteousness, the only true measure of righteousness, and the source of both physical and spiritual life. He was staking His claim as the very God of Creation, the Lord who blessed Abraham, and the Holy One who inhabits eternity. He did this so the disciples would be able to face the dark days ahead and carry on the mission of declaring the gospel to the world. Of course, we know from Scripture that they still didn't understand, and it took several visits from their risen Lord to shake them out of their disbelief. Once they understood the truth of His words, they became changed people, and the world has never been the same.

So how do we follow Him today? The same way the disciples did long ago. They heard the words of Jesus and believed them. They took His words and obeyed them. They confessed their sins to Jesus as their Lord and God. They believed that He died to take the punishment of their sins and rose from the dead to give them new life. They followed His example and command to tell others the truth about sin, righteousness, and judgment. When we follow Him in “the way,” we can be assured of following Him all the way to Heaven.

How can someone open his mouth and say Mary sinned after giving birth, this is the most blasphemous thing I have heard. It's worth taking a look at the immaculate conception dogma. Yes she needed a saviour, hers was just done earlier by a singular act of grace from God, she was freed from original sin at conception. This all hacks back to gen 3 :15. As @nnatom implied, Jesus was conceived in Mary's womb and this had to be sinless. Adam and Eve were also created sinless so nothing God cannot do.

Did our LORD Jesus Christ sinned that HE needed to be Baptized? so whats wrong if our Blessed Mother Mary set the example of calling Our LORD her Saviour?

Mary was a fornicator. She was fucking someone other than Joseph and only lied about one yeye "holy spirit" overshadowing her in order to avoid being publicly stoned!

OLAADEGBU:
Question: "What does the Bible say about the virgin Mary?"

Answer: Mary the mother of Jesus was described by God as "highly favoured" (Luke 1:28). The phrase "highly favoured" comes from a single Greek word, which essentially means "much grace." Mary received God’s grace.

Grace is "unmerited favour," meaning something we receive despite the fact that we do not deserve it. Mary needed grace from God just as the rest of us do. Mary herself understood this fact, as she declared in Luke 1:47, “. . . and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour. . .”

Mary recognized that she needed the Saviour. The Bible never says that Mary was anyone but an ordinary human whom God chose to use in an extraordinary way. Yes, Mary was a righteous woman and favoured (graced) by God (Luke 1:27-28). At the same time, Mary was a sinful human being who needed Jesus Christ as her Saviour, just like everyone else (Ecclesiastes 7:20; Romans 3:23; 6:23; 1 John 1:8.)

Mary did not have an "immaculate conception." The Bible doesn’t suggest Mary’s birth was anything but a normal human birth. Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus (Luke 1:34-38), but the idea of the perpetual virginity of Mary is unbiblical. Matthew 1:25, speaking of Joseph, declares, "But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave Him the name Jesus."

The word "until" clearly indicates that Joseph and Mary did have sexual union after Jesus was born. Joseph and Mary had several children together after Jesus was born. Jesus had four half-brothers: James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas (Matthew 13:55). Jesus also had half-sisters, although they are not named or numbered (Matthew 13:55-56). God blessed and graced Mary by giving her several children, which in that culture was the clearest indication of God’s blessing on a woman.

One time when Jesus was speaking, a woman in the crowd proclaimed, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed" (Luke 11:27). There was never a better opportunity for Jesus to declare that Mary was indeed worthy of praise and adoration. What was Jesus’ response? "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it" (Luke 11:28). To Jesus, obedience to God’s Word was more important than being the woman who gave birth to the Saviour.

Nowhere in Scripture does Jesus, or anyone else, direct any praise, glory, or adoration towards Mary. Elizabeth, Mary’s relative, praised Mary in Luke 1:42-44, but her praise is based on the blessing of giving birth to the Messiah. It was not based on any inherent glory in Mary.

Mary was present at the cross when Jesus died (John 19:25). Mary was also with the apostles on the day of Pentecost (Acts 1:14). However, Mary is never mentioned again after Acts chapter 1. The apostles did not give Mary a prominent role. Mary’s death is not recorded in the Bible. Nothing is said about Mary ascending to heaven or having an exalted role there. As the earthly mother of Jesus, Mary should be respected, but she is not worthy of our worship or adoration.

The Bible nowhere indicates that Mary can hear our prayers or that she can mediate for us with God. Jesus is our only advocate and mediator in heaven (1 Timothy 2:5). If offered worship, adoration, or prayers, Mary would say the same as the angels: "Worship God!" (see Revelation 19:10; 22:9.) Mary herself sets the example for us, directing her worship, adoration, and praise to God alone: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me — holy is His name" (Luke 1:46-49).

It's one thing to believe in what u believe but it's entirely another thing to abuse or castigate others. It either shows an act of desperation or Jealousy or both. You hardly see a Catholic priest criticize another denomination yet must pastors in other denomination will be comfortable enough to preach against Catholicism for the whole sermon.
If only some of us knew how long and the difficulties the Catholic Church had before it came to a conclusion that the Blessed mother must b revered, your arguments would have been different.
In as much as I don't agree with u, I completely respect your opinion. someone even said Catholic is Antichrist, I don't knw his reason but with such ability to knw the denomination that is Antichrist, He can as well b able to look u in the face and tell u if u are going to heaven or not.
When Catholics say that all that happ
I have seen a Catholic priest mock the Protestants. He said "And soeme people would try to force the holy spirit on you, Recieve it receive it" Anf every one in the church laughed

She was highly favoured to be selected to be the vessel for the delivery of baby Jesus. i.e.His earthly mother.
That is all about the Virgin Mary as far as the Bible goes.
The mother of Jesus is not an idol to be worshiped as the Catholics erroneously do.
Mary also fought for her salvation like every other did.
Only Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World, who has a name above every other name
Only Jesus is to be worshiped.
Worshipping Mary is idolatry and a heresy that will condemn the offenders to eternal hell

This is the prayer Mary prayed. She said God my Saviour, meaning that she was a sinner saved by God. Do you see why we are not to worship her?

What is wrong with Mother Mary praising God her Creator? You pentecostal's I don't know what your problems are, it not by force, allow we the Catholics to honour the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ if you don't want to, please stay clear.
