it is a pity we have many people on nairaland commenting on national issues who know nothing outside their states of residence. when we meet medical graduates from above universities doing internship in places like Aminu kano teaching hospital, Murtala muhd specialist hospital, Muhd abdullahi wase specialist hospital and other hospitals we only shake our heads and move. Bayero university medical school remain the best. #BUKmedicalschool

Nigga just STFU if u know guess work is the only thing u know how to do. All your post shows u ain't matured at all, I doubt u ever got into Unilorin, to me you are just an aspirant that heard stories from other fellas and concluded foolishly.
And pls don't mention me again, don't have time for shitty things with shitty mufus.
So difficult for kids to respect their elders these days. If I was to see you in person, I'll deal with you severely because its apparent your mother must have forgotten to teach you manners. And by the way, did you evere study medicine in unilorin? Obviously u didn't so if you don't know what to say, just zip your mouth and concentrate on building your GP at PS.

Afghanistan:
Forget that Unilorin o. I was a medical student there and I must say its really overrated. Insufficient classroom, poor conditions, poor structures and also, the lecturers. Majority of the lecturers no sabi anything as most of them are doctors who were just hired to take up lecturing to fill the gap. Imagine the HOD of a department who cannot speak good english and he calls himself a graduate of MB;BS and has a PHD in anatomy only to miseducate students in anatomy. That's why its very difficult to find professors there. Only a few professors. Another problem is the issue with departments. The college of medicine in unilorin don't have enough departments. They don't even have dentistry, physiotherapy, radiography and so on. Even nursing was just recently established. Despite all these, they keep on withdrawing students anyhow, destroying their careers all in the name of medicine. You just have to make the best of everything in this life and try to be successful in all endeavours. Just believe that you'll make it and with hardwork, you will.
Best Regards.

Thewhizzkid1: See how everybody is yarning about the best medical school..Go to an accredited medical school and graduate as a good medical doctor..Read very hard and come out as the best..The quality of a medical doctor does not depend on the medical school u attended..Whether u attended John Hopkins or u attended OAU, that doesn't make u d best of ur kind...Isn't it thesame mbbs exams that they all write? Abeg study ur medicine and come out among the best..Thanks..
No, Nigerian own different, the test is different, that is why it is not accepted in most of the world. How can u compare a well trained, with the best technology at John Hopkins, to the primitive, outdated, couple with filthy hospital and hostel at nigerian "medical school"

Akiika: They are all outdated and crappy in the field of medicine, they live on old glory. I'm an alumnus of UI and so also is my Dr. Bro. in law. He attested to how archaic what they taught them was when he started practicing here (of course after writing exams and completing residency), need i say he had practiced at least 5 years before immigrating to the US.
ditto. Gbam. I agreed. The study of medicine is useless for western world, but I guess is ok in 9ja, were mediocrite is accepted.

I know that they are different..USA's licensing exams is called the USMLE..A lot of nigerian graduates blast the USMLE too..I was jux trying to say that they shouldn't be contemplating on the best medical school..All nigerian medical graduates are very good..The only thing is that they lack the know-how of modern medical technologies..Thanks.

Ur comments show d kind of person u r. Ur level of ignorance in ds field is abysmally worrisome. Do u even hv idea of number of Nigerian trained doctors that r practising abroad after passing their certification/licencing exams (US, UK and Canada especially)? I doubt u do! The rate at which Nigerian doctors r passing foreign exams is a good indicator of kind of training they receive and skills they acquire locally. U may nt understand more than dt but google is ur friend. U don't just open ur mouth and yarn thrashes on things u don't hv knowledge of. I blv u can do better.

Excelboi: Bayero University Kano is so underated, so so underated, maybe cos they are Northern schools. Their medicine is one of the best and they also have other medical related courses such as Dentistry, nursing, radiography, physiotherapy, medical lab. I'm sure it will top more than five schools up there. Unimaid too should be there.
the reason is simple, there are not many BUKites in nairaland.

My future is already planned, bright and definite unlike you who is not even sure whether you have a future or not. I'm sure you'll end up being a bus driver conveying students from challenge to PS because you are not even talking like someone who has a life or is ready to be educated. You are not worthy to be in a university and I must say you don't deserve an education. Just go and waste your self because you are not worthy of a life too.

I know of guys who passed the USMLE excellently while in med school(Nigerian med school.) I pray I will not be in such condition that will make a doctor operate on my heartor liver...But I think Nigerian doctors can manage such conditions effectively if given the adequate equipment..Nigerian govt is the one killing our medical sector..They pay doctors a very dimunitive salary and keep them in horrible praitise condition...If doctors can take up a case that there should be nobody going abroad for treatment except on extreme cases, u'll see how the naija health sector will boom..
