Achebe is afraid of Abians and her Ezes. He wants to control other ezes and igwes in Iboland, but he is not being accepted as such by Abia traditional rulers. He could have his way in other states especially in Anambra or Enugu definitely not from Abia. Abians are strong, stubborn, fearless and enlightened. And can complete with any other state in south east. Tell me what he Achebe has achieved since his time from shell which he rose to a director to now as Igwe of onitsha (he rose in shell based on slot allocated to east due to oil producing capacities of Abia and Imo states). The then only states from south east producing oil. Only for him to turn around to insult Abia leaders, what concerns him if every family decides to have it eldest son take chieftaincy title as is obtained in Rivers state, and many other south south states.

Why are people in this forum making noise about Abia having so many chiefs or Ezes, is it anybody's wahala? What will you and Achiebe loose as a result? Achiebe can never be accepted as overall Igwe/Eze of Iboland. it has not happened in the history and it cannot start now, no not by his campaign of calumny nor castigation of Abians. Anambra knows when the chips are down they cannot control Abians as they do to other Ibo state. Stolen or ritual money cannot earn them that. Orji Kalu, once cautioned and stopped Ojukwu while in office to stop interfering in the state and stop parading himself. He made it clear to him that Abia is not like other Igbo state where such attitude would be tolerated. And he respected himself and obeyed/stopped. Also Emeka Ofor was hired by OBJ to come and create same trouble he created for Mbadiniju of Anambra in Abia. Orji Uzo also warned him and equally stopped him from doing it in Abia. Recently Okorocha of Imo, wanted to pass back door to Aba to inuagrate APC, we were all witnesses to how T.A Orji disgraced him out? Abia represents the strength and struggle of Ibo man. It was in Abia that Massob was formed and strengthened, Bakassi which defended Ibo and helped to stop killing of Ibos in the north during Orji Kalu time was formed in Abia as vigilante. Head Quarter of Bifra was in Umuahia (Anambra people were sabotuers who sold the war, ojukwu could trust only men from this axis. Aba women riot was led and executed in Abia and moslty Abians. Abia has produced great sons and daughters in all facets of endeavor which I cannot start counting, who have made Africa, Nigeria and indeed Iboland proud. So people stop this insult on Abians. There is no place or state that has not had a taste of bad leadership. Achiebe has not been useful to Ibo, but he used the entire Ibo slot especially those of Abians and Imo people who produce oil to rise in Shell. Let him tell us what he has achieved for Iboland, if not acquiring oil blocks for himself and his cohort. Abians cannot bow to him. Afterall Onitsha people claim they came from Benin. What has Edo man got to do with Iboman from Abia or elsewhere for that matter? He should shut up his mouth. Period - Ibo enweghi Eze, he cannot be one.
