How do you keep your house clean? Do you have a day in the week when you do the cleaning?

Are you (very) neat?

I do my house chores on Saturdays. I work from Monday till Friday and do some minor things after work but the big cleaning on Saturdays.

I am very neat so I take the time to do the cleaning and shopping on Saturday.

I can be a bit chaotic during the week when I am very stressed but the house is always very cosy on Sundays.

I am not too fond of house chores. I prefer the weekly thingy since that's when I am readily available. Thinking of employing someone to help with the chores.

My philosophy as well..I am borderline OCD when it comes to cleaning but my son is helping me chill a bit as I can't come and kee myself ..I hate clutter and I am always decluttering and chucking things in the bin.

I try to clean as you go then do a general clean once a week or so.I am very particular about toilets, the kitchen and bath so everyone knows to scrub any soap scum after every bath or shower(I go through a bottle of Mr Muscle every week hubby still can't get over how many cleaning products I buy in the grocery shop).My daughter is taking after me and will never ever use a messy toilet.

I can't even leave the house without laying my bed and I have been known to come back upstairs to lay the bed before stepping out as hubby can be so annoying by leaving the bed unmade if he is the last person to wake up .

How?

My wife is clean but scattered. I've had to teach her the importance of a tidy place. If it's clean but untidy then it's still going to look messy.
I still pick up shoes and clothes and put in the right places but things have have greatly improved.
I go as far as lecturing any visitor that my sitting room must always be perfectly spotless and tidy. I'm a tidy freak but I'm beginning to relax because of the kid. Sometimes u just have to let them play. One can't keep yelling every second. Allow them do their thing then clean up afterwards.

"Clean As U Go" CAUG.
Can't stand dirty dishes in the sink, dirty bathroom and toilet and untidy rooms.
Always at loggerheads with madam on this as she prefers doing it at a go. Now getting the kids involved and seems to be working. Though we've got a daytime nanny, she helps out quite a lot and has started incorporating the kids.

Less cleaning with hardwood floors. . . .easier too!


The most important thing is to have YOUR OWN PRIVATE LIVING QUARTERS even in your home.
No body enters there without invitation!

We have an agreement. If you wanno mess up your own room. . .YOU WILL NEVER FIND ME THERE.
We meet in common areas only!
It has worked out very well.

When I retire to my quarters. . . .it feels like PARADISE.
My doors are never locked. . . but everyone respects my space!
