Helo Doc,

Please i'm having a slight problem with my left eye..it has been red since last week, and i cant really figure out what is wrong with it, though it's nt aching me, neither am i having any problem of sighting a thing but the reddish part is so glaring that people advise me to see a doctor. though am planing to see a doctor today but your contribution is also welcome.

please say somthing ASAP

1st of all, its wise to see a doctor to examine ur eye. But to prevent any further damage, u have to use bilberry. it is taken by mouth and not as an eye drop. It is found in eyebrite.

Ths problem needs the attention of an optometrist. But ur eyes are lacking the essential nutrients it needs, that is why its good for you to supplement. u need to take fruits rich in beta-carotene. U need omega plus that has the essential omega 3 fish oil

@Op.....I really appreciate you for starting this thread. I have a little advice : when people make any complain about any issue with their Eye and vision, I think its best we discuss their eye problem with them and also tell them the treatment options before we can now refer them to an Eye specialist. As a Doctor myself, the way U prescribe that Eyebrite for every condition even without telling the patient what's the likely cause of their eye problem is disturbing. Please let's help people and not just market some products. Thanks.

There are 2 common conditions that looks like "boil" in the eyelid. 1. Chalazion. 2. Hordeola. They are basically due to blockade or infection of the little glands on the eyelids. Send me a mail so that I can ask U some questions and advice U accordingly. Brainyjaunty@gmail.com

I would suggest u go to a good eye clinic where they can do a test to confirm if U really have Dry eye using Schimers test or Tears Break up Time (TBUT). That Chloramphenicol eye drop is not likely to help with dry eye. What U will require are "Artificial tears" or "Tears supplements" such as HypoTears, Tear Naturale (Alcon product) or Ivymoicell. Also, try and avoid things or conditions that exposes your eye to dryness.

@ OP,

I sometimes have itchy eyes, not the eyes itself but around the tear duct. its goes after a short while but sometimes its persistent. What could be the most likely cause of this?

Thanks doc.

That condition is either Tropia (Strabismus) or Phoria. These are terms to describe
when the eyes are not in alignment with
each other. A tropia is always present,
while phorias are there “some of the
time,” such as when the patient is tired
or when fusion is broken (you cover an
eye and it starts to drift).
Basically the Doctor will test whether its tropia or phoria by doing 'Cover Test'. Then he may also determine the magnitude. For treatment : the Doctor will either give him lenses, do some eye training (orthoptics) or combine the two depending on his findings. How OLD is ur son

What causes uncontrolled blinking of the eyes coupled with weakness of the eyes. I have been experiencing this condition for years now and have used recommended glasses for a few years but there is hardly improvement. Plz Dr what are the likely causes of this condition and is there any solution ?

For his age the Eye are still developing, so it is still undergoing changes. But I would recommend you see an Eye doctor. If either phoria or tropia is detected then it can be corrected early to avoid Amblyopia.

There isn't difficulty moving the eyes but I sometimes feel pain in them (its like a strain). The blinking is the main issue and its very embarassing.
