Hello All,

This is actually for my close friend.

She missed her period 2 months ago. She took 2 pregnancy tests and they were negative. Means she was not pregnant.

She went to the doctor's for a blood test and she was told she was not pregnant.

It is confusing for her because she never misses her period. Whenever she misses her period, she has been pregnant.

She is in her 30's.

Also, they have been trying for a baby and she met with her husband during her last ovulation period.

If you have heard of something like this before, pls say.

Any advise for my friend.

It's not that uncommon for women to miss their period and not be pregnant. . .

Cuses of missed or irregular periods include:

Excessive weight loss or gain. Although low body weight is a common cause of missed or irregular periods, obesity also can cause menstrual problems.

Emotional stress.

Illness.

Travel.

Medicines such as hormonal birth control methods, which may cause lighter, less frequent, more frequent, or skipped periods or no periods at all.

Hormone problems. This may cause a change in the levels of the hormones that the body needs to support menstruation.

If she has been trying to get pregant and I mean really desperately so, there is something called pseudosiesis or fake pregnancy, where the mind wants it sooo bad, it develops symptoms of real pregnancy. . . morning sickness, missed periods, belly growing. . . the whole shebang but that is kinda rare, so I think she is just probably stressed out or something.

it might be due to hormone imbalance. i advice u to go see a doctor asap.

I went on a 28-day-fast eight years ago,the first and last time I tried such a thing. Because my body wasn't used to that kind of deprivation a lot of changes took place in my body,one of them being,my period went AWOL. Perhaps your friend's engaged in strenous activity her body isn't used to,or she's under a great deal of strain or stress. After I went off the fast from sheer panic my period came back. She should see a doc for an evaluation.

the first diagnosis for a missed menses(period) is pregnancy until proved otherwise.do a serum pregnancy test in the lab or hospital to affirm your status.
Other things that may be responsible icludes:
hormonal inbalance
use of some contraceptives
menopause
and others as enumurated by the early post

happened to me- i didnt c my period for 2mnths. I was under a gr8 deal of stress,i thot i was handling it i guess that was a way for my body to protest. landlord told me he had sold his house and i have to move out Asap, trying to get a new house was somtin else entirely the agent went awol wit my money it turned police case coupled wit work, i was working from 7am to 9pm and i couldnt see the results.
I went to c the doctor and she told me it happens sometimes when a woman is stressed. anyway as soon as i recovered my money from the agent and got a new house i saw my period.

All this came out negative. Until later about a month i got a very high fever, the doctors told me i was 13wks pregnant. That my story your friend might be pregnant or not. But something will come up soon.
