I was with a friend last night and we were having a drink, our conversations drifted into marriages and relationships in Nigeria. He said he does not believe that there is a monogamous relationship in Nigeria. He used his previous work as an example. He used to work as a marketing rep for a bank in Nigeria, and the bank sends him to wealthy Nigerian women, while they send his female colleagues to wealthy Nigerian men. He said his experience on that job made him believe that almost every married individual male or female cheats. He said the women he was sent to always asks for favours in kind before they agreed to do business with him. He said the single ones were even better than the married ones.

I also remember that a female colleague of mine told me that, if you are a single girl in Nigeria you should not pray to go to your boyfriends house and meet a married woman there. She said that the married women start the fights, and are not ashamed of what people might think or say or if their actions might jeopardise their marriages.

I don't think I need to talk about married men in Nigeria, I think that dog has been flogged countless times in Nigeria, that, I don't think there is any point in rambling on about the fact that nearly all married men in Nigeria cheat. Nearly all the hotels and guest houses built in Nigeria are built from proceeds gotten from the patronage by married men.

I have also looked back on almost all the relationships I had in the past, and I have come to the conclusion that I might have cheated in all of them, apart from maybe the first one I had when I was 16. Looking back as well I think all my exes cheated as well, cos after the relationship is over, some of them come out clean and tell me that they were actually cheating on me, or my friends will tell me that they saw them in compromising situations but did not want to say anything in case we were serious and the relationship was going to end in us getting married.

I think Nigeria has gotten to a point were infidelity is part of being in a relationship. Not too long ago a video circulated, in that video they were asking a group of girls what they thought the right number of men to date at a particular time was, some of the girls said that it was ok to date 6 men at a particular time.

So I think we need Cheaters in Nigeria ASAP, or the status quo will remain as it is.

My 2 Cents.......... Ducii

I'm in support of it ma man... There are too many cases of broken relationships...

If you want a show like Cheaters in this country , the production crew and presenter will have to go around with armed escorts to ensure the safety of everyone involved - or it becomes CSI Nigeria series.
