THE KNIGHT OF DARKNESS

 

The black steed upon which astride

Rode the ghoulish knight of chaos

Clattered like chariots of desert fires

Amidst a spell of frosty tide

 

Dead solemn silence descended

As he alighted by Eve’s kingdom

Breathing out rage of doom

For men were all drugged

 

The rest lost in lust or slain

Mothers murdering in wombs

Of humanities refuge fortress

In alliance with wealth of pain

 

Yet, there stood another warrior

The last woman heavy with child

She had neither sword nor shield

But light was her might and valour

 

And the child was man

The prey of darkness terror knight

Hence he loomed through the night

As he slept in the woman

 

But her heart was strong and brave

That light rose therein in prowess

Shattering the cleavages of darkness

And plundering its knight to grave

 

And it was time to bring forth

The child, the progenitor of nature
Unto whose reign all creature

In all kingdoms drew their breath

 

In him, she was immortalized

For he came in her flesh and blood

Cloaked in her gene too as his hood

The knight of lightness triumphed!

 

Then to ruins laid the darkest stride

His steed cremated at furriest fires

As the fiery sun charred his carcass

And the spell of his frosty tide
