Hmmmm.. The truth is that there is so much going on in the health sector that "outsiders" know very little about. It is ok to comment and say bad things about NMA and JOHESU without really listening to their side of the story. If i were in your shoes i will do the same! The FG is the major cause of the problem! There are pple in government who benefit greatly from the bad state of the sector. These include the CMDs and politicians. They spend alot of money to fuel the crisis. They sponsor some "boot-lickers" in the sector to protect their interests. The government know these people, the know how to stop them but they dont want to. Then the NMA and JOHESU leaders too are selfish bunch of pawns who are being manipulated by politicians. They think they are fighting for power in the sector forgetting that the power belongs to the patient! The solution lies with the government, most health workers are against strikes, they only go on strike wen they sense the government's insincerity. The government needs to first take care of the bad eggs causing the problems, then call the stakeholders together, if this fails, an iron hand maybe needed. 1 Like 1 Share |

Well it is good news (for our patients at least!) when NMA and JOHESU do not go on strike. However, methinks it is time that NMA and JOHESU stopped the (direct) fight for salaries and promotion....and instead fought for things like universal health insurance and an increase in funding for health care. |

It's becoming a competition between various trade unions this days, they calculate each others entitlements benefited from their strike actions .Then propose there own demands to government with a threat of strike action, they're not telling us what they will do to lmprove there performance and increasing productivity on the job. It's all about Greed, selfishness and unpatriotism. They will never strike against 1, Corruption 2,Lack of transparency in government business 3,Epileptic power supply 4, Industrial shot down 5, Unemployment |

hardywaltz: i think u are somewhat confused fellow.. Are u saying without the help of "doctors" or without the help of doctors " union which happens to be NMA"? Both ar two different things ok.. I hope ur dull brain will comprehend.. Doctors in thier individual capacity were involved in curtailing Ebola even though thier union may not hv been actively involved.. Did u get that... kaeycea:Stop been extremely foolish. My original post was talking about public health workers which I believe NMA falls under. So if I said doctors I was referring to NMA. And yes for the umpteenth tym Lagos State Government and FG were able to curtail the spread of Ebola without the input of NMA (Doctors) shows u how worthless both NMA and JOHESU are to the medical profession. |

[quote author=hardywaltz post= afteral Lagos State Government and FG were able to curtail the spread of Ebola without their (Doctors) help. The bold above was contained in ur original post... Either u did not understand what u wrote out of emotional outburst or u ar busy swimming in foolishness.. When u say "without Doctors help " , ar u say non- medical personnel were at d centre of the fight against Ebola ? Or ar u saying NMA is a union of Doctors only employed by federal or state govt... It is not a must to comment on an issue if u dont hv full knowledge... Lastly... Doctors and medical personnel were fully engaged by FG and state govt during that epidemic... Get that into ur brain ..thank u |

let me educate u so that u dont embarrass urself on net in future.. NMA comprises.. 1 .. Doctors who are undergoing thier training in both federal and state teaching, specialist , and general hospitals...usually refered as " Resident Doctors" 2... Doctors who hv completed thier residency programme and who are employed by Govt.... Usually refered as " consultants" 3.... Doctors who are in private practice and are self employed are also part of the association with this u now knw that any Dr in this country fall into one of this category..... Did this explanation expose how inadequate u were armed to comment on that issue ? |
