Mls is not a league to be taken too seriously.
you are very very very wrong. The standard of play is very high in that league. But its market is just coming up. The premier ship is a business brand that has been on for so long ,with the way the mls is bringing foreign players into their system, within the next 10years ,the mls will be competing with the likes of serie a and la liga . It is all a matter of time .

Football is about Current form and performance. So when I hear people say Martins is old at 29 (leave the age argument) I wonder. When he is performing daily. Ok let look at Klose of Germany who went to the world cup this year brazil 2014 at the age of 36:

“Miroslav Josef Klose born 9 June 1978 (age 36) is a German professional footballer who plays as a striker for Lazio in the Italian Serie A.

Klose is best known for his performances with the German national team, for which he is the all-time top scorer with 71 goals.
He has excelled at the FIFA World Cup, where he is the overall top scorer in its history with 16 goals.
He was part of the 2014 World Cup winning German squad, having previously finished second (2002) and third (2006, 2010) in the competition.

Klose scored five goals in his debut World Cup in 2002 and won the Golden Boot at the 2006 World Cup in Germany by again scoring five times,[5]

Klose also scored four times in the 2010 World Cup and scored twice at the 2014 World Cup, including one in the 7–1 semi-final victory against Brazil, which put him ahead of Ronaldo with 16 goals.[6]

By scoring in the 2014 tournament, Klose equalled his compatriot Uwe Seeler and Brazilian Pelé's achievements in being the only players to have scored in four different World Cups,[7] as well as the only player to have scored at least four in three different tournaments.[8] The German national team has never lost a game in which Klose has scored.[9] Klose retired from international football on 11 August 2014”

The MLS is not a competitive league. Retirees like Thiery Henry, Donavan, Robby kaeen, Tim Cahill, are doing wonders and scoring goals in this same MLS. So for me, its not a measure of saying he is back. If he were replicating this form in the premier league, german bundesliga, italian seria, or even Scottish league..... then I can comfortably say yes, he is back

Any player can go to the MLS and shine. I must however mention that the MLS is developing into a competitive league and in the near future, it would most definitely compete in the world stage
Scottish league better than the MLS ?
When last did you watch both leagues ?
Dempsey and Cahill that shined at d world cup over all d strikers we took play in d same league as martins and martins has performed way better than them.
The U.S team impressed very well at d world cup. They played one of the best football. They were just unlucky to loose to belgium. And guess what ?.Majority of their players were from the same MLS.
Martins has performed way better than henry, villa, cahill and all d players u listed.
If he were in europe i believe he would still be banging d goals as long as he stays injury-free.
Before martins left for sounders,he was among the top 10 highest scorers in d la liga at levante(1st half of the 2012/2013 season).
He was a beast at inter and also did well at newcastle. He would have done more if not for injury.
Martins has proven himself in europe,so him shinning in the MLS isnt a fluke.

guy you correct wella
MLS or no MLS..... what of the guys we are inviting from china, sudan and even Nigerian league.
if we can call up player from our league (with due respect) why not the MLS.
can our league attract thierry henry, Lampard, Beckam etc
yet those guys didnt make as much impact as OBAGOAL

come to think of it most of the players in the USA team to the world cup came from that league.
even the big teams in Europe are all going there for thier pre season (has any one though playing Nigerian league team)

football is about current form our neighbours Ghana, has thier captain Asamoa gyan playing for a Quater team. which can not be compared to MLS.yet he is playin steady

if Sola Ameobi could be invited to world cup who score maybe 10 goals in ten season at age.......greanpa
why not Oba goal that scores 17 goal in one season

Its all about Keshi......... we are watching
interm of form no Nigerian striker can compare to Oba goal (except maybe IK Uche) of what use if a player is 18 but can not deliver.
football is about current form.
not just age ask the germans and Italian.....Buffon, Pirlo, Klose etc even Drogba
