Venezuela under Hugo Chavez quietly helped Haiti by entering into a special trade relationship with them. Venezuela was sending fuel and oil while Haiti could pay in installments using agricultural products. Cuba quetly sends doctors and medical personnel to Haiti and provides training for Haitians.

The Haitian's and Caribbean people do not hate Africa and African things, but they are in a tight corner so they just have to pretend in order to survive. Imagine if your sister is kidnapped and told that if she does not call you a bastard, that she will be raped and killed. You can't blame her for whatever she says. These Haitians still practice a slight version of the Old Religion of the Yoruba people.

As for dependence they do not do it by choice. Haiti is an occupied country and nobody has helped them in spite of the help that Haiti has given to countries in the region. A lot of people don't know that Haiti sent soldiers to liberate South America after defeating France. The people in Venezuela, Columbia and Ecuador were liberated under Simon Bolivar, but when things were tough for the great General, it was Haiti that send soldiers and supplies to them. That is why Chavez helped Haiti. over 10% of Venezuela's population is black, same with Columbia.

May be Haitians should research and flaunt their Yoruba ancestry.
Yoruba is a powerful group of Africans/Nigerians. Yoruba may be able to raise Haiti's appeal in Africa. Although One wonders if Haiti would accept African aid. They rejected Senegal's offer of land after the 2010 earthquake saying it was better being in devastated Haiti than Senegal! Land Haiti could have accepted and used for agriculture to help her economy!

If Haiti had accepted that offer the US would have dealt with them seriously by withdrawing aid. Those guys are hostages there and only constant support from a large alliance of countries can bail them out. Try and understand the position these people are. Even one of Mexico's presidents once lamented that he feels sorry for Mexico because they are so far from god and so close to the USA. (Mexico is big o)

I know Google is not synonym for research, but the least you could have done was to have done a little education for yourself. Ghana depends 70% on hydro, 30% on crude and 10% on gas, thing is Mahatma is shifting his incompetence to the gas supply from Nigeria (which is supplying 30% of contractual agreement). Just read below what a former deputy energy minister under his party said last week.

Please help me tell them ooo

Reliance on Nigeria gas is 'mentally retarding'
thinking
- NDC MP asserts.
At a round table discussion on the challenges
facing the energy sector organized by the
Institute of Green Growth Solutions the NDC MP
was highly critical of the decision to rely on
Nigeria for gas.
Joy News' Joseph Opoku Gakpo reported the MP
as saying it is "mentally retarding" for the
country to rely on Nigeria, a volatile region - for
gas. This 'mentally retarding' explanation, he
said has been sold to Ghanaians through a mass
media he also criticised as "intellectually lazy".
"How many times have we not known that this
supply is unreliable? Since when has gas supply
from Nigeria been reliable? It has historically
been unreliable. And the least you can do in
planning is to plan with the fact that gas from
Nigeria can not be depended upon so let's look
at alternatives", the frustrated MP emphasized.
