What Do You Know About Personal Branding? You’ve Got To Read This! by CVWizards(m): 9:12am On Oct 15, 2014
Years ago, people did not consider personal branding important. Some didn’t even know the term. However, today, you get about 2.5 million results if you Google “Personal branding”. Many people still believe that personal branding is never more important than your organization’s branding. It is true only if you are talking about companies like Nestle or Coca Cola. On the other hand, if you own a small company, personal branding and company branding are considered the same thing. Your actions will, one way or the other, affect your company’s reputation.

What is Personal Branding?

Personal branding can be defined as a method of marketing yourself as a brand. Through this mark, you communicate your skills and abilities to build a name for yourself. This way, you develop in a network which brings you to the notices of others. It begins with launching verified skills followed by feedback from market. In simple words, personal branding can be defined as crafting your own brand to sell yourself.

Why should I brand myself?
Like I mentioned above, personal branding is very beneficial for you and your company. Here are some of the advantages of personal branding:

• Be in command of your information
Whenever potential clients or contractors search you, there is a greater chance that they will get the information you supplied. In this way, they get only those details you wanted them to have.

• Your company will get dedicated clients
Ever wondered how Apple suddenly got so many customers? Well, the secret lies with Steve jobs. (Not literally) The obsession with Steve jobs paved the way for the success of Apple and it acquired millions of dedicated customers. Therefore, good personal branding can earn your company a loyal clientele.

• Manage your name
Author of the 4-Hour Work Week, time Ferris, has rightly said, “Personal branding is about managing your name — even if you don’t own a business — in a world of misinformation, disinformation, and semi-permanent Google records. Going on a date? Chances are that your “blind” date has googled your name. Going to a job interview? Ditto.”

Get, set, GO!
Developing and carrying out a personal branding technique takes hard work and time. Therefore, start setting personal branding aims from right now. Here are the 3 easy steps to build a sophisticated personal brand:

• Identify your brand and define it:
The first step towards building a successful personal brand is to describe it. And even before this, you have to define it for yourself. It involves an outline of personal and professional life and what do you aim to attain in both of them in future. Now update all your social info according to your newly created personal brand.

• Create
Now select a few areas and focus upon them. Create content for them and work hard to improve it. For establishing your brand, you can create any type of content for example some articles. Moreover, you can take to twitter to launch yourself. Take part in Twitter chats with new users to grow your followers.

• Gather experience
Now, go ahead and gather as much experience as you can to grow in your field. You have already defined and created your brand. But all you have to do now is to keep it going well so that if any potential client comes across, your effort bears fruit.
