The Vice Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Prof Abdullahi Mustapha on Wednesday charged the Federal Government to increase funding on agricultural research and extension services in order to meet up with the advanced technology.

According to him the measure would go a long way in ensuring food security for the country and enhance productivity.

Mustapha made the charge at a five day 14th National Irrigation and Drainage Seminar in Minna tagged `Advancing the Frontiers of Irrigation and Drainage for Agricultural Transformation’.

“It is important to let the participants to know that our institutes are making great contribution to advancing the frontier of irrigation in the country.
