ABUJA - National Assembly Approves
Autonomy For Local Governments admin | Oct Am sure the Local Council Chairman
will be happy to hear this, because
they have been on this for a while
now. The National Assembly yesterday,
Tuesday approved financial and
administrative autonomy for all the
774 local government authorities in
the country by amending section 124
of the 1999 Constitution. The section provides a consequential
provision for making the councils a full
third-tier government without undue
interference from any state
governments. The amendment was one of the 22
others approved by the House of Reps
last week and ratified by the Senate
yesterday.

I kukuma trust one apeeshit gov for a SW state. He will just say the law does not involve him and so does not concern him just like he did to the FoI bill.
Congrats to the remaining 754 LG chairmen in the country.
