This is a thread I created for 'poems' by my 13 year old kid brother. He calls these things poems but I won't call them. I call them write-ups. NLs please check them out and decide if they are fit to be called poems or not. I'll send him your advices.

NB: He's a science student who has never opened a literature textbook.

Nigeria at 54
It's been 54 years.
Since we got the independence.
Haaa, and we started the rule with intelligence.

We mark the 54th year today.
Ha,they've led us astray.
They've led us the wrong way.
And to progress,they've said 'nay'.

Truly they have failed.
To protect our name.
Ah,to uphold our fame.
We are all to blame.
Ah,we're all the same.
Shouldn't we now,
Cover our eyes in shame?
We all turned this nation lame.

Today,we ain't gonna celebrate.
We ain't gonna jubilate.
Ah,everything can be changed.
It ain't too late.
Nigeria can be changed.
Suffering isn't our fate.

Every 1st October.
I try not to cry.
In our hands the future lies.
To corruption,let's together say bye.
And take our country to a level so high.
