Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, will on Monday, November 10, 2014, present the 2015 budget to members of the state House of Assembly.

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Leader of the House, Ajibayo Adeyeye moved the motion for adjournment during a plenary session.

Adeyeye, who explained that the governor had sent a message to inform the House of his decision to come and present the budget on Monday, told his colleagues that the sitting would commence by 10a.m prompt.

Meanwhile, the House has commended the Nigerian judiciary over the ruling affirming the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, as the substantive Speaker.



In a statement issued by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Publicity, Security and Strategy, Segun Olulade, the House explained that Nigerian judiciary has proven that judgment can truly be obtained by Nigerians in the array of impunity coming from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government.

The House stated that the judiciary has upheld the hope of the nation, “and it is the institution that stands as the protector of our hard-earned democracy given its vulnerability to disruptions by the ego driven and lawless ruling party and its government.

“It is unthinkable, petty, unreasonable and insensitive approach to attempt to remove the Speaker because he crossed to the progressive party.

“Just few weeks ago, Governor Mimiko of Ondo State, who was the only governor of the Labour Party (LP), dumped the party to a gallows for PDP and heaven did not fall.

“Why will the present government go so petty at using the security agency that belongs to all of us to threaten Tambuwal’s safety plus the ploy to remove him by the PDP lawmakers in the House,” the statement read in part.

The lawmakers also stated that the most unimaginable errors have occurred under the present administration than all other administration put together since Nigeria’s independence.

They added that Nigeria has been made a laughing stock in the comity of nations considering spate of atrocities and petty acts of impunity and lawlessness by the harbinger of powers and custodians of our democracy and freedom
